The paper deals with the problem of mobile location in the presence of angular scattering. The proposed approach consists in using the knowledge of the Power Angle Density (PAD) to estimate the azimuth, the sight of the mobile and their respective angular spread.
The demand of communicating at higher data rates can be easily met by using wideband signals [1], rendering the problem of estimating the direction of arrival (DOA) of wideband sources quite important. Multipaths, scatterers etc. present near the transmitter provide spatial bandwidth to these sources, which seriously degrade the performance of traditional DOA estimation techniques, designed ass...
Preparing the books to read every day is enjoyable for many people. However, there are still many people who also don't like reading. This is a problem. But, when you can support others to start reading, it will be better. One of the books that can be recommended for new readers is narrowband direction of arrival estimation for antenna arrays narrowband direction of arrival estimation for anten...
Direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation based on the array of three-component electromagnetic vector-sensors is considered within a biquaternion framework. A relationship is established between the biquaternion covariance and the combination of both complex covariance and cross-product. By exploiting this relationship, the DOA estimates can finally be obtained by diagonalizing the biquaternion co...
In direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation, the direction of a signal is usually assumed to be a point. If the direction of a signal is distributed due to some environmental phenomenon, however, DOA estimation methods based on the point source assumption may result in poor performance. In this paper, we consider DOA estimation when the signal sources are distributed. Parametric and nonparametric ...

High-frequency (HF) radars are routinely used for remotely sensing ocean surface currents. However, the performance of the most widely used direction-finding HF radar is degraded due to the effect of the inevitable deviations of actual antenna pattern on the direction of arrival (DOA) estimation. In this paper, we quantify the DOA estimation error resulting from the deviation of the actual ante...
