Transmutation of burnup products for a typical VVER-1000 reactor in fusion-fission hybrid has been investigated using MCNPX 2.6.0 calculation code. Burnup fission was performed 1000 MW practical power VVER core UO2 fuel and light water as its coolant moderator, well. The have classified separated according to their half-lives usages, the remaining wastes were used fuels reactor. also implemente...
The design, construction and control of artificial self-organized systems modelled on dynamical behaviours of living systems are important issues in biologically inspired engineering. Such systems are usually based on complex reaction dynamics far from equilibrium; therefore, the control of non-equilibrium conditions is required. Here we report a droplet open-reactor system, based on droplet fu...
The Vienna TRIGA Mark II reactor was modelled by means of the Serpent-2 Monte Carlo burnup calculation code. The purpose of the modelling is the determination of core critical parameters and of nuclear fuel composition time evolution. This paper presents the Serpent-2 reactor model validation process carried out during the last year. Taking into account the irradiation history, the fuel composi...
We measured in situ the radiation-induced absorption of pure silica core fibers exposed to a fission nuclear reactor. We observed the growth of the 1.39m OH vibration band in polymer coated fiber. Three mechanisms are responsible for this effect: recoil protons, hydrogen diffusion, and a probable compaction effect. Based on this experiment, a fiber-optic neutron monitor prototype is proposed.

The flux and the spectrum of reactor antineutrinos depend not only on the current reactor state, which is specified by the power level and the isotope composition of the nuclear fuel used, but also on the preceding evolution of the fuel. The spectrum of antineutrinos produced in the beta decay of fission products and other radioactive nuclei accumulated in the reactor core begin to evolve towar...
The Fukushima accident sequence The earthquake and the subsequent tsunami that devastated part of Northeast Japan on March 11th, 2011, led to a series of accidents in the Fukushima Daichi nuclear plant, constructed and operated by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO). Only three of the six units of the plant (all of them boiling water reactors, BWR) were operating at that time. The sequence of ...
Six advanced reactor concepts have been selected for Generation-IV reactors and are being investigated worldwide to meet the challenging goals of effective resource utilization and waste minimization (sustainability), improved safety, enhanced proliferation resistance, and reduced system cost. [1] The six systems are very high temperature reactor (VHTR), sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR), superc...
The Molten Salt Fast Reactor (MSFR) is a nuclear reactor concept under development in the framework of H2020-Euratom project SAMOSAFER. Given its peculiar characteristics as circulating-fuel reactor, new simulation tools need to be developed and tested for study. In this work, multiphysics solver previously OpenFOAM extended with functionalities analysis design. main focus modelling behavior Ga...
