Gingival hyperplasia can occur during use of drugs such as diphenylhydantoin, cyclosporine and nifedipine. We report, three cases of gingival hyperplasia induced by amlodipine, a second generation calcium channel blocker. Exact cause of induction of thehyperplasia is not known. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker. Because of its long acting effect it is being widely used as antihypertensive drug. Gingival hyperplasia is one of its side effects. The histological and clinical evidences were consistent with amlodipine-induced gingival hyperplasia.
