We outline a simple way to include heavy quark vacuum polarization in lattice QCD simulations. The method, based on effective field theory, requires only a trivial modification of the gluon action and has no impact on simulation times. We assess the range of validity for this procedure, and the impact that it may have.
We present analytical calculation of the first seven moments of the heavy quark vacuum polarization function in the three-loop order. The obtained results are compared against the asymptotic formulas following from the threshold singulari-ties. We also discuss the µ dependence of the moments within the BLM procedure.
Abstract: The world-line formalism is used for the evaluation of the mixed heavy-quark– gluon condensate in two models of QCD – the stochastic vacuum model and the dual superconductor one. Calculations are performed for an arbitrary dimensionality of spacetime d ≥ 2. While in the stochastic vacuum model, the condensate is UV finite up to d = 8, in the dual superconductor model it is UV divergen...
The real and imaginary part of the vacuum polarisation function Π(q2) induced by a massive quark is calculated in perturbative QCD up to order αs. The method is described and the results are presented. This extends the calculation by Källén and Sabry from two to three loops. The complete postscript file of this preprint, including figures, is available via anonymous ftp at ttpux2.physik.uni-kar...

Researchers have reported successful deployments of diagnosis decision support systems based on Bayesian networks. However, the methodology for evaluating the diagnosability for such systems has not been sufficiently addressed, which consequently hinders the pace of full embracement of such systems. In this paper, we propose a methodology to analyze diagnosability for diagnosing multiple faults...
The problem of modeling and controlling vehicle longitudinal motion is addressed for front wheel propelled vehicles. The chassis dynamics are modeled using relevant fundamental laws taking into account aerodynamic effects and road slop variation. The longitudinal slip, resulting from tire deformation, is captured through Kiencke‟s model. A highly nonlinear model is thus obtained and based upon ...
