The aim of the present study is to evaluate cyst wall and protoscolex as an alternate source of antigen in serodiagnosis of cystic echinococcosis (CE). A total of 90 blood samples, 30 each of confirmed CE cases, disease controls and healthy controls were collected. Dot-ELISA using cyst wall, protoscolex and cyst fluid were used to demonstrate anti-hydatid antibodies. The sensitivity of Dot-ELIS...

Hydatidosis is endemic disaese in south of Iraq , zinc level are detected in sera of patient and hydatid cyst fluid by atomic absorption technique in colleges of Basrah university , the present study found that the zinc levels were increase in sera of patient when compare with control whom are not infected with disaese . so the levels of zinc are also increase or high in hydatid cyst fluid .

The impact of ultrashort nanopulse on cellular membrane is of biological significance and thus has been studied intensively. Different from cell study, this ex vivo study aims to investigate the biological effects of nanosecond pulsed electric field (nsPEF) on an independent multimembrane parasite, human hydatid cyst, to observe the unique influence of nanopulse on macromembrane structure, perm...

Surgical intervention is still the main modality for the treatment of hydatid disease. Different surgical procedure have been described; however, in the literature there is no collective agreement on the best surgical strategy. For intact pulmonary hydatid cysts, an enucleation or needle aspiration are possible strategies. Though, both methods need careful manipulation due to the serious compli...

INTRODUCTION The aim of this study was to explore the environment of Echinococcus granulosus (E. granulosus) protoscolices and their relationship with their host. METHODS Proteins from the hydatid-cyst fluid (HCF) from E. granulosus were identified by proteomics. An inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer (ICP-AES) was used to determine the elements, an automatic biochemical a...
