RNA-based regulatory mechanisms play important roles in the development and plasticity of neural circuits and neurological disease. Developing axons provide a model well suited to the study of RNA-based regulation, and contain specific subsets of mRNAs that are locally translated and have roles in axon pathfinding. However, the RNA-binding proteins involved in axon pathfinding, and their corres...

and foreword: People like to assign the attribute speed (i. e. performance) not only to hardware but also to software. But software does not have an attribute speed. Software defines for each user initiated task a sequence of information processing steps (machine instructions) to be performed. A suitable term for the aspect under construction can only be found when having a second imlementation...

Ovarian cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths among women. There is an urgent need of better approaches for the identification of appropriate biomarkers in the early detection of ovarian cancer. The aim of this study was to elucidate the significance of autoantibodies against insulin-like growth factor II mRNA-binding proteins (IMPs) in patients with ovarian cancer. In th...

Schizosaccharomyces pombe cdc15 homology (PCH) family members participate in numerous biological processes, including cytokinesis, typically by bridging the plasma membrane via their F-BAR domains to the actin cytoskeleton. Two SH3 domain-containing PCH family members, Cdc15 and Imp2, play critical roles in S. pombe cytokinesis. Although both proteins localize to the contractile ring, with Cdc1...

IMP2 (insulin-like growth factor-II mRNA binding protein 2) is an oncofetal protein that is aberrantly expressed in several types of cancer. We recently identified the Imp2 gene as a target gene of the architectural transcription factor HMGA2 (high mobility group A2) and its tumor-specific truncated form HMGA2Tr. In this study, we investigated the mechanism via which HMGA2 regulates Imp2 gene e...

Laminin-β2 (LAMB2) is a critical component of the glomerular basement membrane as content of LAMB2 in part determines glomerular barrier permeability. Previously, we reported that high concentrations of glucose reduce expression of this laminin subunit at the translational level. The present studies were undertaken to further define systems that control Lamb2 translation and the effect of high ...

Human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) require precise control of post-transcriptional RNA networks to maintain proliferation and survival. Using enhanced UV crosslinking and immunoprecipitation (eCLIP), we identify RNA targets of the IMP/IGF2BP family of RNA-binding proteins in hPSCs. At the broad region and binding site levels, IMP1 and IMP2 show reproducible binding to a large and overlapping ...

The aim of these notes is to show how the magnetic calculus developed in [MP, IMP1, IMP2, MPR, LMR] permits to give a new information on the nature of the coefficients of the expansion of the trace of a function of the magnetic Schrödinger operator whose existence was established in [HR2].

We report the genome sequence of Devriesea agamarum strain IMP2, isolated from the liver of a female Agama impalearis. This actinobacterium is associated with septicemia and dermatitis in agamid lizards. Availability of this genome sequence will contribute to the understanding of this pathogen's virulence.
