We have investigated the development of current-driven (CD) kink instability through three-dimensional relativistic MHD simulations. A static force-free equilibrium helical magnetic configuration is considered in order to study the influence of the initial configuration on the linear and nonlinear evolution of the instability. We found that the initial configuration is strongly distorted but no...

The presence of Kink-turns (Kt) at key functional sites in the ribosome (e.g., A-site finger and L7/L12 stalk) suggests that some Kink-turns can confer flexibility on RNA protuberances that regulate the traversal of tRNAs during translocation. Explicit solvent molecular dynamics demonstrates that Kink-turns can act as flexible molecular elbows. Kink-turns are associated with a unique network of...

We study the stability of a so-called kink profile for the one-dimensional Cahn– Hilliard problem on the real line. We derive optimal bounds on the decay to equilibrium under the assumption that the initial energy is less than three times the energy of a kink and that the initial Ḣ−1 distance to a kink is bounded. Working with the Ḣ−1 distance is natural, since the equation is a gradient flow w...

In this paper, we study the symmetric travelling wave solutions of b-family Novikov equation. We show that equation can provide solutions, such as peakon, kink and smooth soliton solutions. particular, single two-peakon, stationary kink, anti-kink, two-kink, two-anti-kink, bell-shape hat-shape are presented in an explicit formula.

We consider non-topological, ”bell-shaped” localized and regular solutions available in some 1+1 dimensional scalar field theories. Several properties of such solutions are studied, namely their stability and the occurence of fermion bound states in the background of a kink and a kink-anti-kink solutions of the sine-Gordon model.

A spatially-discrete sine-Gordon system with some novel features is described. There is a topological or Bogomol'nyi lower bound on the energy of a kink, and an explicit static kink which saturates this bound. There is no Peierls potential barrier, and consequently the motion of a kink is simpler, especially at low speeds. At higher speeds, it radiates and slows down.

We have considered the dynamics of kinks in smectic-C liquid crystal in uniformly rotating and oscillating electric or magnetic fields. In tilted oscillating fields our results are at variance with those of earlier investigations which predict chaos in this geometry for a p kink. On the other hand, we find that the velocity and the structure of a p kink are oscillatory with the frequency of the...

In this paper, we present soliton-like solutions of the non-linear complex Klein-Gordon systems in 1+1 dimensions. We will use polar representation to introduce three different soliton-like solutions including, complex kinks (anti-kinks), radiative profiles, and localized wave-packets. Complex kinks (anti-kinks) are topological objects with zero electrical charges. Radiative profiles are object...
