the histopathologic diagnosis of orbital and ocular adnexal lymphoproliferative lesions is difficult, resulting controversy in classification, determining benignity or malignancy of them and treatment modality selection. we designed the following study to evaluate clinical, histopathologic and if necessary immunochemical features of them in decreasing indeterminate cases. the study includes 51 ...
Pseudolymphoma or reactive lymphoid hyperplasia is part of a spectrum of lymphoid tumors that is more common between 50 and 70 years of age. It is slightly more common in women. The patient was a 59 years old male with diplopia and left eye displacement proptosis. The disease began 1.5 years ago with slow pr...
Pulmonary nodular lymphoid hyperplasia (PNLH) is a reactive lymphoid proliferation manifesting as multiple solitary nodules or localized infiltrates in the lungs. It is a type of benign lymphoproliferative disease that can affect the lungs. We present the case of a 41-year-old female patient with respiratory symptoms such as productive cough, left chest pain, and dyspnea. Imaging findings revea...
Lymphoid papillary hyperplasia is a rare abnormality of the tonsils with a predilection for affecting young Asian girls. Herein, we report a 31-year-old Chinese woman presented as right lateral recurrent tonsillar hypertrophy with odynophagia and dysphagia over the past 5 years, worsening over a period of for half a year. Clinically, this lesion was similar to papillomatosis or lymphoid polypos...
Reactive lymphoid hyperplasia is a rare disease that forms a mass-like lesion and is characterized by the proliferation of non-neoplastic, polyclonal lymphocytes forming follicles. We recently encountered 2 cases of reactive lymphoid hyperplasia of liver, both of which were asymptomatic and mimicked hepatocellular carcinoma by various imaging modalities. Based on the clinical impression of hepa...
Diffuse nodular lymphoid hyperplasia of the gastrointestinal tract is a rare disease characterized by numerous small polypoid nodules in the small intestine, large intestine, or both. It is associated with immunodeficiency and infection, such as Giardia lamblia and Helicobacter pylori. Although diffuse nodular lymphoid hyperplasia associated with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) and giar...
PURPOSE To correlate computed tomographic (CT) appearance of the thymus with results from histologic examination of thymic tissue and clinical outcome in patients with generalized myasthenia gravis who underwent thymectomy. MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty-five patients with myasthenia gravis underwent CT of the thorax and thymectomy. Findings at clinical follow-up were available in all patients. ...
Nodular lymphoid hyperplasia is uncommon in adult patients. Associated diseases are common variable immunodeficiency (CVI) and lymphoid tissue malignancies. In this case report we focus on clinical presentation and differential diagnosis of diffuse nodular lymphoid hyperplasia of the gastrointestinal tract coexisting with selective immunoglobulin A deficiency and sarcoid-like syndrome.
A patient with nodular lymphoid hyperplasia, who manifested defects in cellular immunity, is presented. The clinical course is discussed and a review included of the 23 patients thus far reported with nodular lymphoid hyperplasia and hypogammaglobulinaemia.
Lymphoid papillary hyperplasia of tonsil is a rare entity with a clinical impression of both a benign and a malignant tumor. We are reporting a case of four and a half years old Indian male child who underwent tonsillectomy for left sided tonsillar growth. Histopathologic study of the specimen showed a distinct form of lymphoid hyperplasia with finger-like projections that composed of remarkabl...
