Object: To explore the therapeutic effects and therapeutic mechanisms of Conditional Replication Adenovirus(CRAd) in combination with cisplatin on lung cancer cells. Methods: Using MTS / PMS assay, in vitro cell inhibition assay was performed to detect the cell viability of two lung cancer cell lines, NCI-H292 and NCI-H661. PCR was employed to detect the Coxsackie receptor(CAR) expression of ca...

Human T-cell lymphotropic viruses type 1 and 2 are retroviruses that share the same routes of transmission as HIV-1. Since these agents are prevalent simultaneously in different parts of the world, coinfection is a frequently reported event. However, prevalence rates of coinfection differ for distinct populations and regions of the world or for each virus, with human T-cell lymphotropic virus t...

OBJECTIVE(S) Lichen Planus is a common disease with unknown etiology which affects the skin and mucosa. Recent studies have focused on the possible role of the virus in the pathogenesis of Lichen Planus. The purpose of this study was to determine the association between the human T-cell lymphotropic virus type 1 and Lichen Planus. MATERIALS AND METHODS This case control study was conducted on...

Five macaques received two vaccinations consisting of soluble human T-cell lymphotropic virus type I proteins from a cell/serum-free human T-cell lymphotropic virus type I-producing cell line. Five other macaques were vaccine controls. All were challenged with a simian T-cell lymphotropic virus type I-producing cell line. The vaccinated macaques generated a strong serological response to challe...

Simian T-lymphotropic virus type 1 (STLV-1) strains occasionally infect humans. However, the frequency of such infections is unknown. We show that direct transmission of STLV-1 from nonhuman primates to humans may be responsible for a substantial proportion of human T-lymphotropic virus type 1 infections in rural Côte d'Ivoire, where primate hunting is common.
