A new route to α-alkyl-α-fluoromethylenebisphosphonates, 2 has been developed starting from commercially available tetraethyl fluoromethylenebisphosphonate (1), and alkyl halides using either caesium carbonate in DMF or sodium dimsyl. De-esterification of 2 provided biologically important α-alkyl-α-fluoromethylenebisphosphonic acid, 3, while alkoxide-induced carbon-phosphorus bond cleavage of 2...
The nanometer-sized interfacial layer between the metal cathode and the organic semiconductor plays a critical role in controlling the performance of organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs). Cs2CO3 has been shown to be a very efficient electron-injection material in OLEDs, including in OLEDs based on small molecules and polymers (polymer lightemitting diodes (PLEDs)). It has been shown that ther...
The article describes the synthesis and extraction properties of the new hexahomotrioxacalix[3]arenebased derivatives cone- and partial-cone-2 bearing 1-methyl-1H-imidazole moieties at the lower rim. It has been demonstrated that O-alkylation of the flexible macrocycle 1 with 2-(chloromethyl)-1-methyl-1Himidazole hydrochloride affords tri-O-alkylated products with a cone or partial-cone conform...
The title compound, C(43)H(45)NO(12), was prepared from the reaction of 2,6-bis-(dibromo-meth-yl)pyridine and bis-phenol in the presence of caesium carbonate as a base. The central ring makes dihedral angles of 64.83 (6), 13.48 (6), 56.96 (6) and 66.21 (6)° with the peripheral rings. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming a folded structure.
The title compound, C14H18N4O, synthesized from an unconventional microwave-assisted method using caesium carbonate as catalyst, has an approximately planar conformation with the pyridyl and pyrazole rings inclined by a dihedral angle of 7.94 (3)°, allowing the formation of an intra-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bond. The supra-molecular assembly has a three-dimensional arrangement controlled mainly...
In this work, we demonstrate a novel carrier transporting combination made of tungsten trioxide (WO3) nanomaterials and Cs2CO3/PCBM buffer bilayer for the fabrication of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Two different types of WO3, including nanoparticles and nanorods, were prepared by sol-gel process and hydrothermal method, respectively. Cs2CO3/PCBM buffer bilayer was inserted between WO3 and pe...
Metal oxide charge carrier transporting materials have been incorporated in many ways perovskite solar cells (PSCs) because of their excellent chemical stability, wide band gaps, and reasonable mobilities. Herein, we report a low-temperature solution-processed intercalation method for introducing metal oxides displaying bipolar capability into PSCs. We intercalated p-type nickel (NiO) with cesi...
We investigate the effect of interfacial buffer layers—vanadium oxide V2O5 and cesium carbonate Cs2CO3 —on the performance of polymer solar cells based on regioregular poly3-hexylthiophene and 6,6 -phenyl C60 butyric acid methyl ester blend. The polarity of solar cells can be controlled by the relative positions of these two interfacial layers. Efficient inverted polymer solar cells were fabric...
2-Amino-3-acylthiophenes are known to allosterically modulate the A(1) adenosine receptor and are also used as intermediates in the synthesis of therapeutic agents and pharmacophores such as thienoazepines and thienopyrimidines. The N-alkylation of 2-aminothiophenes has been notoriously difficult to accomplish under mild conditions and there are very few examples of N-alkylated 2-aminothiophene...
