Congenital melanocytic naevi (CMN) are birthmarks that can have a great impact on the lives of patients because unusual appearance CMN and risk developing skin cancer (melanoma) or brain spine problems. Larger (more than 20 cm) relatively rare affect one in every 20,000 newborns. At moment, different studies looking at often measure outcomes this makes it difficult to compare studies.

Background: Skin cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer in the world and melanoma is the deadliest type of skin cancer. Both melanoma and melanocytic nevi begin in melanocytes (cells that produce melanin). However, melanocytic nevi are benign whereas melanoma is malignant. This work proposes a deep learning model for classification of these two lesions.    Methods: In this analytic s...

INTRODUCTION It is important to identify subgroups within the general population that have an elevated risk of developing cutaneous melanoma because preventive and early-detection measures are useful in this setting. The findings of most studies that have evaluated risk factors for cutaneous melanoma are of limited application in Spain because the populations studied have different pigmentary t...

Melanocytic nevus is the benign proliferation of melanocytes. The most common location of melanocytic nevus is the skin of the extremities; however, there are few case reports of melanocytic nevus at the rectal mucosa. No prior case of malignant melanoma from melanocytic nevus at the rectal mucosa has been reported; therefore, it is unclear whether resection should be performed or close observa...

BACKGROUNDS Epidemiological studies have shown a significant relationship between melanocytic nevi and cutaneous melanoma. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the development of melanocytic nevi in the pupils of a school composed primarily of children of Dutch descent and to assess the effect of environmental factors on these individuals whose phenotypic characteristics were similar to those of their ances...

Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer. Well-delineated diagnostic histologic criteria for malignancy in melanocytic lesions have been put forth, and are widely accepted. The majority of melanomas can be accurately diagnosed on a sufficient biopsy based on evaluation of these histologic parameters, including asymmetry, lack of circumscription, impaired maturation, hypercellularity, cytol...

Melanoma, a malignant form of skin cancer is very threatening to life. Diagnosis of melanoma at an earlier stage is highly needed as it has a very high cure rate. Benign and malignant forms of skin cancer can be detected by analyzing the lesions present on the surface of the skin using dermoscopic images. In this work, an automated skin lesion detection system has been developed which learns th...

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE In vivo reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) is a promising novel technology for non-invasive early diagnostics of cutaneous melanoma. However, the possibility to detect melanocytic atypia in nevi by means of in vivo RCM remains unknown. The aim of the study was to evaluate the significance of in vivo RCM features of melanocytic atypia for the diagnosis of melanocytic ...
