The adsorption and decomposition of methanol on the variously oxidized Mo(110) surface has been studied using temperature programmed desorption spectroscopy, Auger electron spectroscopy, low energy electron diffraction (LEED) and high-resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy (HREELS). Distinct degrees of oxidation are distinguished. That giving rise to a two-dimensional surface oxide (up to...

During ageing, the ferritic phase of Cast Austenitic Stainless Steels (CASS) undergoes decomposition by spinodal and G-phase precipitation, which leads to increasing hardness decreasing impact toughness. Mo-bearing steels are more prone ageing than Mo-free steels. To study effects Ni, Mo, Mn, duplex model alloys were thermally aged at 350 °C 400 °C. The microstructure evolution during was chara...

[((Ar) PMI)Mo(CO)4 ] complexes (PMI=pyridine monoimine; Ar=Ph, 2,6-di-iso-propylphenyl) were synthesized and their electrochemical properties were probed with cyclic voltammetry and infrared spectroelectrochemistry (IR-SEC). The complexes undergo a reduction at more positive potentials than the related [(bipyridine)Mo(CO)4 ] complex, which is ligand based according to IR-SEC and DFT data. To pr...

Cu(II) and organic carboxylic acids, existing extensively in soil and aquatic environments, can form complexes that may play an important role in the photodegradation of organic contaminants. In this paper, the catalytic role of Cu(II) in the removal of methyl orange (MO) in the presence of tartaric acid with light was investigated through batch experiments. The results demonstrate that the int...

Efficient direct valorization of methane to value-added chemicals and materials remains an unsolved challenge for modern chemistry science. In this work, we explored non-oxidative conversion hydrogen, hydrocarbons, valuable zeolite-templated carbon materials. First, using a set spectroscopy microscopy characterization tools, investigated how the reaction conditions influence process formation i...

Catalytic activity of gold nanoparticle (NP)-loaded metal oxide semiconductors (Au/MOs) for H(2)O(2) decomposition and chemoselective oxidation of cinnamyl alcohol to cinnamaldehyde strongly depends on both the kind of the MO-supports and the Au particle size, and Au/SrTiO(3) exhibits an extraordinary high level of activity for the H(2)O(2) decomposition exceeding that of Pt/TiO(2).

In the Buchwald-Hartwig reaction between HIPTBr (HIPT = 3,5-(2,4,6-i-Pr3C6H2)2C6H3 = hexaisopropylterphenyl) and (H2NCH2CH2)3N, it is possible to obtain a 65% isolated yield of (HIPTNHCH2CH2)2NCH2CH2NH2. A second coupling then can be carried out to yield a variety of "hybrid" ligands, (HIPTNHCH2CH2)2NCH2CH2NHAr, where Ar = 3,5-Me2C6H3, 3,5-(CF3)2C6H3, 3,5-(MeO)2C6H3, 3,5-Me2NC5H3, 3,5-Ph2NC5H3,...
