To ensure targeting of apoferritin nanocarrier with encapsulated doxorubicin drug, we used a peptide linker based on a protein G with N-terminus affinity towards Fc region of antibodies. To connect the peptide to the surface of apoferritin, the C-terminus of peptide was made of cysteine with affinity to gold. The surface of apoferritin with encapsulated doxorubicin (APODOX) was coated either wi...
Light emission from the junction of a scanning tunneling microscope (STM) is examined in the presence of 20 nm topographical features in thin gold films. These features significantly modify the emission rates of the junction. Contributions to this modification are discriminated by examining emission rates on samples where the material is varied spatially. It is found that the variability in STM...
We report herein the designed synthesis of four silver(I)- or gold(I)-bridged flexible metalla-macrocycles (MMCs) and their distinct performance in the surface modification of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). The resulting gold(I)-MMCs-modified AuNPs were found to be resistant to pH variation and capable of binding with metal ions.
Gold nanoparticles, particularly with the particle size of 2–5 nm, have attracted increasing research attention during the past decades due to their surprisingly high activity in CO and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) oxidation at low temperatures. In particular, CO oxidation below room temperature has been extensively studied on gold nanoparticles supported on several oxides (TiO2, Fe2O3, Ce...
in this study, we explained a nanobiosensor for dna sequence detection, featuring sequence specificity, cost efficiency, speed, and ease of use. without the need for labels or indicators, it may be ideal for the detection of biological agents. this review describes recent advances in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (eis) with an emphasis on using nanoparticles and nanotechnology. a power...
A place exchange reaction between 11-mercaptoundecanoic acids (MUA) and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB)-protected gold nanorods (GNRs) was conducted inside an ionic exchange resin; this modification resulted in functional gold nanorods soluble in both polar and nonpolar organic solvents.
Surface modification is an important step in developing nanoscale biosensors. The uniform and stable surface structure by forming self-assembled monolayers (SAM) makes it suitable for the development of biosensors. We have studied several surface modification methods on a gold electrode to covalently immobilize the glucose oxidase. The methods with SAM formation were more efficient for immobili...
