Kissing nevus is a curious type of nevus that was first described on the eyelids and rarely described on the penis. We report two cases of kissing nevus of the penis and review previously reported cases. The lesions of the kissing nevus of the penis showed characteristic mirror-image symmetry relative to the coronal sulcus. On histopathology, the lesion showed a compound nevus.

Malignant blue nevus is rare, and a common blue nevus rarely needs a differential diagnosis from malignant melanoma. Although a melanocytic nevus with a satellite lesion is usually suggestive of a peripherally disseminating malignant melanoma, very few cases of blue nevus with satellite lesions have been reported thus far. To our knowledge, this is the seventh case of a blue nevus with satellit...

We report a novel treatment for giant congenital melanocytic nevi (GCMN) that involves the reuse of resected nevus tissue after high hydrostatic pressurization (HHP). However, the remaining melanin pigments in the inactivated nevus tissue pose a problem; therefore, we performed a long-term observation of the color change of inactivated nevus tissue after HHP. Pressurized nevus specimens (200 MP...

A biopsy of the tumor showed that a well-differentiated squamous...

Lateral labial melanocytic nevus or mole has cosmetic value among young or middle aged Iranian ladies particularly those with fair complexion. I describe auto transplantation of a melanocytic nevus from a remote area of the body to lateral labial skin. After selection of a 3-mm nevus, both donor and recipient sites were anesthetized. A punch with a diameter comparable to the diameter of t...

Verrucous epidermal nevi are hamartomatous lesions of the epidermis that, unlike other epidermal nevi (such as sebaceous nevus or nevus comedonicus), are rarely associated with malignant neoplasms. The majority of squamous cell carcinoma develop in linear or multiple epidermal nevus and rarely in solitary epidermal nevus. In general, the prognosis is favorable. We report a case of well-differen...

A 41-year-old woman with a complex congenital nevus that possessed features of both a blue nevus and a nevus of Ota is described. She was found to have melanotic hyperpigmentation of the underlying subcutaneous tissue and dura mater. Two separate melanomas developed in the tissues underlying her nevus (one in the subcutaneous tissue and another intracranially, arising from the dura).

The article by Shapiro et al., which summarizes a survey of respondents on the words or phrases they use to identify the melanocytic nevus described by Clark et al. in 1978, shows that over 70% of The American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP) members and nearly 85% of The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) members preferred one of the following phrases: ‘‘dysplastic nevus’’, ‘‘nevus with a...
