the intraoperative care of pheochromocytomas can be difficult and lead to serious complications. we present a case of a 46 year-old female undergoing laparoscopic resection of pheochromocytoma, who was scheduled for surgery with phenoxybenzamine and amlodipin. under general anesthesia cardiovascular stability was achieved by peritumoral infiltration of lidocaine during resection.
When a patient complaining of headache comes to the hospital, focus is usually on checking for neurological disorders. After these are excluded, functional headaches thought of, and it easy overlook other causes. In case presented here, was hospitalized with severe headache. There were no specific findings in either brain imaging or cerebrospinal fluid. The persisted, accompanied by excessive s...
there are few reported cases of endobronchial metastasis of pheochromocytoma literature. we present here a 56-year old woman who underwent left lower lobectomy of lung, following pneumonia with unresolved chest radiographs. computed tomography showed a lobulated soft tissue mass, measuring, 38×27 mm, at the perivascular space of anterior mediastinum. the resected specimen, showed lobulated tumo...
the distinction between malignant and benign pheochromocytoma has always been a diagnostic challenge over the last decades. to date, the only reliable criterion is metastasis. the aim of the present study was to investigate the possible expression of pituitary-tumor transforming gene (pttg1) and retinoblastoma (rb) in benign and malignant pheochromocytoma. paraffin blocks of 44 and 11 patients ...
One of the rarest tumors involving the urinary bladder is the pheochromocytoma. A case of pheochromocytoma of the urinary bladder in a young female suffering from headache and cystitis for many years is reported. Twenty-four hour urine VMA was normal. The patient was never hypertensive except during surgical manipulation of the tumor. Biopsy of the bladder resulted in massive hemorrhage.

In this case report, we present a 40-year-old man with the history of flank pain and weight loss in recent months. A left adrenal mass was the sonographic finding supported by CT-Scan. After light microscopic and immunohistochemistry examination and based on “ pheochromocytoma of adrenal gland scaled score(PASS)” the diagnosis was “Histologic malignant pheochromocytoma”. ...
A case of pheochromocytoma of the bladder is presented with a r eview of the literature. We discuss general management principles of bladder pheochromocytoma. Successful diagnosis and treatment of this lesion requires a high index of suspicion based upon the patient's symptom complex, allowing preoperative preparation prior to surgical treatment.
Metastatic pheochromocytoma represents one of the major clinical challenges in the field of neuroendocrine oncology. Recent molecular characterization of pheochromocytoma suggests new treatment options with targeted therapies. In this study we investigated the 90 kDa heat shock protein (Hsp90) as a potential therapeutic target for advanced pheochromocytoma. Both the first generation, natural pr...
Pheochromocytoma (PCC) is a rare neuroendocrine catecholamine-secreting tumour of the adrenal gland. It originates from chromaffin cells found within medulla or extra-adrenal paraganglia. We present case report 24-year-old female who presented with hypertension, headache, palpitations, chest pain and blurry vision. On ultrasound evaluation, right suprarenal mass was noted, which further evaluat...
