Prostate cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed neoplasm in men. This neoplasm has usually excellent prognosis, mostly consequent to the early diagnosis and the effective hormonal therapy. However, significant percentages of patients treated with total androgen blockade therapy, escape to treatment and evolve toward a more aggressive type of cancer. This clinical entity, named castration-...
Pulmonary tumor thrombotic microangiopathy is a rare but serious malignancy-related respiratory complication. The most common causative neoplasm is gastric adenocarcinoma. We report a case caused by metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma, diagnosed postmortem in a 58-year-old male. To our knowledge, this is the second reported case from metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma.
PSMA PET is increasingly being used in imaging of recurrent prostate carcinoma. A case with suspected recurrent Prostate carcinoma (PCa), raised PSA (Prostate specific antigen) and suspected spinal metastases was referred for whole body Ga-68-PSMA PET/MRI. The study revealed PSMA avid recurrent prostate mass and extensive osseous metastases. Abnormal PSMA uptake in the thyroid gland prompted US...
Adenocarcinoma of the prostate is the most frequent neoplasm in men, with 50% of males over the age of 70 years presenting this type of cancer. Clinical manifestations of secondary testicular tumours from the prostate are most often unsuspected clinically and are instead detected incidentally dur...

Due to its long latency and its identifiable preneoplastic lesions, prostate cancer is an ideal target tumor for chemoprevention. Different compounds are available and certainly polyphenols represent those with efficacy against prostate cancer. ...
Prostate sarcoma originates from the prostatic stroma and it is an extremely rare neoplasm that accounts for less than 0.1% of primary prostate malignancies; globally, less than 200 cases have been reported in the literature.1 Leiomyosarcoma is the most common primary prostate sarcoma in adults and constitutes 38e52% of them.2 It has an aggressive clinical course.3 Here we present a case of pro...
We report a rare case of clinically significant secondary prostatic neoplasm. In a patient with outflow obstruction, a transurethral resection of the prostate revealed a metastasis of a signet ring cell carcinoma of the stomach in the resected prostatic tissue.
