This paper presents a control scheme which controls in which PV (Photovoltaic) and Fuel cell system are connected through a DC bus. In order to achieve maximum utilization of distribution generation, power supplied to load for day and night through renewable resources. PV power availability is depends upon the solar irradiation so that it becomes important to extract maximum possible power from...

The flaccid paralyses characteristic of poliomyelitis are a direct consequence of the infection of motor neurons with poliovirus (PV). In PV-infected mice, motor neurons die by apoptosis. However, the mechanisms by which PV induces cell death in neurons remain unclear. Analyses of the apoptotic pathways induced by PV infection in several cell lines have demonstrated that mitochondria play a key...

The light absorption of a monolayer graphene-molybdenum disulfide photovoltaic (GM-PV) cell in a wedge-shaped microcavity with a spectrum-splitting structure is investigated theoretically. The GM-PV cell, which is three times thinner than the traditional photovoltaic cell, exhibits up to 98% light absorptance in a wide wavelength range. This rate exceeds the fundamental limit of nanophotonic li...

The inability of papillomaviruses (PV) to replicate in tissue culture cells has hampered the study of the PV life cycle. We investigated virus-cell interactions by the following two methods: (i) using purified bovine PV virions or human PV type 11 (HPV type 11) virus-like particles (VLP) to test the binding to eukaryotic cells and (ii) using different VLP-reporter plasmid complexes of HPV6b, HP...

AIM To evaluate the synergistic targeting and killing of human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells lacking p53 by the oncolytic autonomous parvovirus (PV) H-1 and chemotherapeutic agents and its dependence on functional promyelocytic leukemia protein (PML). METHODS The role of p53 and PML in regulating cytotoxicity and gene transfer mediated by wild-type (wt) PV H-1 were explored in two pair...

The calcium-binding protein parvalbumin (PV) hallmarks subpopulations of interneurons in the murine brain. We serendipitously observed the de novo expression of PV in ependymal cells of the lateral ventricle wall following in vivo lesioning and brain slicing for the preparation of organotypic hippocampal slice cultures (OHSCs). In OHSCs, de novo PV-expression begins shortly after the onset of c...

Voltage boosting from CMOS photovoltaic device (PV) is achieved by implementing multiple PV units on single CMOS chip and are series connected by an external integrated passive device. Localized substrate removal process is developed to electrically isolate the PV units. Four-cell cascaded CMOS PV module provides an open-circuit voltage of 2.05 V while maintaining its superior PV performance.

Microsporidia are obligate intracellular pathogens which enter host cells by the discharge of a hollow tube through which the sporoplasma is extruded into the host cell. Since this invasion mechanism is very different from common entry strategies, the formation of the parasitophorous vacuole (PV) in Encephalitozoon species is likely to be distinct from known principles. We investigated the orig...

Cells cured of persistent virus infection can be used to investigate cellular pathways of resistance to viral cytopathic effects. Persistent poliovirus (PV) infections were established in human intestinal Caco-2 cells, and spontaneously cured cell cultures were obtained. Two cell clones, cl6 and b13, cured of type 3 PV mutant infection and their parental Caco-2 cells were compared for susceptib...

Interest in improving the performance and reducing the costs of photovoltaic (PV) cells is rapidly increasing. Novel thin-film PV cells offer the possibility of using less material, but require advanced light-trapping techniques for high performance. These designs must be carefully modeled; a finite-difference time-domain tool known as MEEP offers this capability for expert users. However, ther...
