In this paper we show several results about monotone planar circuits. We show that monotone planar circuits of bounded width, with access to negated input variables, compute exactly the functions in non-uniform AC0. This provides a striking contrast to the non-planar case, where exactly NC1 is computed. We show that the circuit value problem for monotone planar circuits, with inputs on the oute...
INTRODUCTION Shielded RF coils have been investigated since the earliest days of MRI, taking the form of the “Zabel coil” [1] a shielded transmission line coil, coils over ground planes, and more recently microstrip coils, particularly for use at high-fields [2]. Some authors have stated that RF shields are essential for 7T surface coils over 10 cm in diameter [3], and others have successfully ...
The development of numerical techniques now permits us to analyze complex structures such as dielectric resonator filters and planar passive elements for coplanar monolithic microwave integrated circuits. In this paper, we describe a novel method for designing dielectric resonator filters. Then a Chebychev band pass filter is designed by coaxially placing high-Q TM01Q dielectric resonators ...
Placing shields around a victim signal line is a common way to enhance signal integrity while minimizing delay uncertainty. An analytic model of the peak noise is developed for shielded interconnects based on a model. A design methodology for inserting shields between coupled interconnects to reduce crosstalk noise is presented.
Integration of planar circuits to non-planar ones has been recently considered as a credible technique for low-cost mass production of microwave and millimeter-wave circuits and systems. This paper regards these concepts that provide for a complete integration of planar circuits and waveguide filters synthesized on a single substrate by means of metalized post (via-hole) arrays. A method of des...
