Resource allocation is studied for a forwardlink two-cell Code-Division Multiple-Access (CDMA) voice network with multiple service classes. System resources are transmitted power and codes. The service classes are specified by different user utility functions that relate utility to received Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise-Ratio (SINR). The objective of the resource allocation is to maximize t...
The asymptotic statistical resolution limit (SRL), denoted by d, characterizing the minimal separation to resolve two closely spaced far-field narrowband sources for a large number of observations, among a total number of MZ2, impinging on a linear array is derived. The two sources of interest (SOI) are corrupted by (1) the interference resulting from the M 2 remaining sources and by (2) a broa...
In this paper, we study the interference scenario where multiple Device-to-Device (D2D) pairs and one cellular use share the same spectrum resources, and propose a novel D2D signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) improvement algorithm called DSIA from the perspective of precoding and decoding. Numerical results show that in comparison with the traditional spectrum orthogonal scheme, the...
High speed wireless access on 60 GHz spectrum relies on high-gain directional antennas to overcome the severe signal attenuation. However, perfect alignment between transmitting and receiving antenna beams is rare in practice and overheard signals from concurrent transmissions may cause significant interference. In this paper we analyze the impact of antenna beam misalignment on the system perf...
In this paper, we study slotted Spread Spectrum Aloha with Successive Interference Cancelation at the receiver over a Gaussian channel. We consider a decentralized power control setting in which each user chooses its transmit power independently at random according to a power distribution with continuous support. In this setting, we derive an analytical expression for the expected interference ...
With the rapid growth of vigilance that cognitive radio participate an essential task in wireless communication to resolve the spectrum scarcity vs. under-utilization dilemma owing to the dormant spectrum supervision policies. In this study, we explore the innovative scenario that the secondary user frequently has to trade off between two goals at the same time: one is to maximize its own throu...
In code division multiple access (CDMA) systems employing linear adaptive receivers, the detector is typically estimated directly from the received signals, based on some partial knowledge about the system, e.g., signature waveforms of one or several users. We derive the Cramér–Rao lower bounds on the covariances of the estimated linear detectors, under three different assumptions on the mechan...
In this article, we study the Leader Election Problem in the Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise-Ratio (SINR) model where nodes can adjust their transmission power. We show that in this setting it is possible to solve the leader election problem in two communication rounds, with high probability. Previously, it was known that Ω(logn) rounds were sufficient and necessary when using uniform power, ...
magnetic resonance imaging (mri) is a notable medical imaging technique that makes of phenomenon of nuclear magnetic resonance. because of the resolution and the technology being harmless, mri has considered as the most desirable imaging technique in clinical applications. the visual quality of mri plays an important role in accuracy of medical delineations that can be seriously degraded by exi...
We study algorithms and lower bounds for k-selection and sorting in the SINR model. For the problem of finding the k-th smallest value in the network, we provide a O(log n) algorithm based on the aggregation trees presented in [3]. We argue that any algorithm using this approach has runtime Ω(log n/ log log n). We show that sorting can be done in Θ(n) time slots.
