Supported vanadia catalyst was successfully synthesized using wet impregnation of gamma-Alumina to study Propane Oxidative Dehydrogenation (POD). The prepared catalysts were characterized with XRD, BET, and TPR tests. In a broad temperature range (340 to 630°C), effects of vanadia loading (2.7, 5.4, and 9 wt%) and propane to oxygen ratio (3/1 to 1/3) were investigated on propane conversion as w...

Micropatterns of silica were generated under biocompatible conditions by a combination of microcontact printing (muCP), layer-by-layer (LbL) self-assembly, and biomimetic silicification. Quaternary amine-containing poly(diallyl dimethyl ammonium chloride) induced polycondensation of silicic acid, resulting in spatioselective formation of silica micropatterns. Scale bar: 10 microm.

The oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of propane to propylene by supported vanadia catalysts has received much attention in recent years, but different reactivity trends have been reported for this catalytic reaction system. In the present investigation, the origin of these differing trends are investigated with synthesis of supported V/SiO2, V/TiO2, and V/Al2O3 catalysts prepared with three diff...

Silica-supported tantalum clusters (on average, approximately tritantalum) were formed by the treatment, in either H(2) or ethane, of adsorbed Ta(CH(2)Ph)(5); the supported catalyst is active for ethane conversion to methane and propane at 523 K, with the used catalyst containing clusters of the same average nuclearity as the precursor.

The reaction of 1-naphthyl-methyl-amine and hydro-chloric acid in a 1:1 molar ratio resulted in the formation of the 1:1 proton-transfer compound, C(11)H(12)N(+)·Cl(-). In the crystal, the ions are linked by N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds into a sheet pattern in the ab plane such that each Cl(-) ion is bonded to three NH groups from the naphthylmethylammonium ion.

In this study, we synthesized Fe(3)O(4) magnetic nanoparticles coated estrone-imprinted polymer with controlled size using a semi-covalent imprinting strategy. In this protocol, the estrone-silica monomer complex (EstSi) was synthesized by the reaction 3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl isocyanate with estrone, where the template was linked to the silica coating on the iron oxide core via a thermally rev...

The title compound, C(9)H(11)N(2)O(5) (+)·Cl(-)·H(2)O, was synthesized from (1S,2S)-2-amino-1-(4-nitro-phen-yl)propane-1,3-diol in four steps. As demonstrated by this work, no racemization occurs during this synthetic procedure. The crystal structure displays many inter-molecular hydrogen bonds between the acidic cation, chloride anions and the water mol-ecules, forming a three-dimensional netw...

Inspired by previous studies on model systems, a series of silica-supported Au–Ni catalysts were prepared and tested for the conversion of propane in the presence of hydrogen. The Au–Ni/SiO2 catalysts were prepared by successive impregnation, i.e. Ni was deposited first followed by Au. TEM/EDX results confirmed the presence of bimetallic Au–Ni nanoparticles. The dehydrogenation of propane to pr...
