Abstract In this work, we studied the failure mechanism of steel–polypropylene hybrid fiber reinforced concrete (HFRC) at mesolevel. The uniaxial tensile test HFRC was simulated using ABAQUS finite element analysis software. Then, relationship between mesoscale process and mechanical properties analyzed based on simulation results. results showed that cracks first appeared in interfacial transi...

This paper present the results of mechanical properties hybrid reinforced concrete made by adding polypropylene and steel fibers into mixture. For testing purposes were used with hooked ends monofilament fibers. The total 5 batches made: addition fibers, their combination in amount 0,5 % volume. test show that concretes 0.4% 0.1% have better performance compared to other concretes.

Cementitious composite is one of the most widely used construction materials in the world because its abundant resources, strong adaptability and mature production process [1]. Despite cementitious matrices present good compression strength, they are brittle and usually break when suffer some strain caused by tensile effort. Aiming to overpass this problem some fibers can be used as reinforceme...

The development of cracks in concrete structures is one the significant issues with maintaining high strength after hardening. One way to prevent and control this problem use fibers. This paper investigates containing electric arc furnace slag aggregates reinforced fibers used study are steel three kinds polypropylene fibers; polyolefin (modified polypropylene), homopolymer, high-toughness poly...

A steam sterilizer (autoclave) was tested to determine the operating parameters that affected sterilization of microbiological waste. Tests involved standardized loads (5, 10 ad 15 lb [ca. 2.27, 4.54, and 6.80 kg, respectively]) contaminated petri plates in autoclave bags placed in polypropylene or stainless steel containers. Thermal and biological data were obtained by using a digital potentio...
