In the crystal structure of the title salt, 3C(5)H(6)NO(+)·HSO(4) (-)·SO(4) (2-)·H(2)O, the hydrogen sulfate ion is linked to the sulfate ion by an O-H⋯O hydrogen bond. The hydrogen sulfate-sulfate anion is a hydrogen-bond acceptor for the three independent cations and the uncoordinated water mol-ecule, the hydrogen-bonding inter-actions giving rise to a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded networ...

Sugar-aza-crown ether-based cavitand 1 can act as a selective turn-on fluorescence sensor for hydrogen sulfate ion in methanol among a series of tested anions. Spectroscopic studies, particularly NMR spectroscopy, revealed that the C-H hydrogen bonding between 1,2,3-triazole ring of cavitand 1 and hydrogen sulfate ion is crucial for the high selectivity of the receptor for hydrogen sulfate.

Pregnenolone sulfate is a steroid metabolite with a plethora of actions and functions. As a neurosteroid, pregnenolone sulfate modulates a variety of ion channels, transporters, and enzymes. Interestingly, as a sulfated steroid, pregnenolone sulfate is not the final- or waste-product of pregnenolone being sulfated via a phase II metabolism reaction and renally excreted, as one would presume fro...

A tripodal tris(3-pyridylurea) receptor (L) assembles with metal sulfate salts MSO(4) (M=Mn, Zn) to afford supramolecular cages [SO(4) subset L(2)] that encapsulate the SO(4)(2-) ion via multiple hydrogen bonds in a three-dimensional structure held by second-sphere coordination; (1)H NMR and negative-ion mode ESI-MS spectra reveal significantly strong sulfate binding in solution.

Lead (Pb) solubility is commonly limited by dissolution–precipitation reactions of secondary mineral phases in contaminated soils and water. In the research described here, Pb free Pb2+ ion activities were measured following precipitation minerals from aqueous solutions containing sulfate or carbonate a 1:5 mole ratio absence presence phosphate over pH range 4.0–9.0. Using X-ray diffraction Fou...

Electron transfer through gas phase ion-ion reactions has led to the widespread application of electron- based techniques once only capable in ion trapping mass spectrometers. Although any mass analyzer can in theory be coupled to an ion-ion reaction device (typically a 3-D ion trap), some systems of interest exceed the capabilities of most mass spectrometers. This case is particularly true in ...
