Paraunitary lter banks are important for several signal processing tasks. In this paper, we consider the task of adapting the coeecients of a multichan-nel FIR paraunitary lter bank via gradient ascent or descent on a chosen cost function. The proposed generalized algorithms inherently adapt the system's parameters in the space of paraunitary l-ters. Modiications and simpliications of the techn...

We introduce the notion of ideal, prime ideal, lter, fuzzy ideal, fuzzy prime ideal, fuzzy lter of ordered $Gamma$-semiring and study their properties and relations between them. We characterize the prime ideals and lters of ordered $Gamma$-semiring with respect to fuzzy ideals and fuzzy l- ters respectively.

The lter construction, as an endo-functor on the category of small coherent categories, was used extensively by A. Pitts in a series of papers in the 80's to prove completeness and interpolation results. Later I. Moerdijk and E. Palmgren used the lter construction to construct non-standard models of Heyting arithmetic. In this paper we describe lter construction as a left-adjoint: applied to a ...

Aperture $lters compose a recently introduced class of non-linear operators used in signal processing. Their operation involves $ltering of signals that are observed within a window of $nite width and height. They allow a tractable design of non-linear $lters by reducing the search space. This paper presents an adaptation to the original design involving multiple masks with shapes chosen to $t ...

It has been known for some time that it is not possible to meet arbitrarily severe FIR lter specications with xed b-bit wordlength by suciently increasing the lter length N. For any given non-trivial specication there is a nonzero lower bound on the approximation error, below which i t i s not possible to go, no matter how large the value of N. For practical purposes it is even more useful to k...

This correspondence deals with multiwavelets which are a recent generalization of wavelets in the context of time-varying lter banks and with their applications to signal processing and especially compression. By their inherent structure, multiwavelets are t for processing multi-channel signals. This is the main issue we will be interested in here. The outline of the paper is as follow. First, ...

F. A. Nielsen, C. Goutte and L. K. Hansen Dept. of Mathematical Modelling, Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, Denmark Introduction We describe a exible semi-parametric linear time-invariant convolution model for the fMRI response. It extends the FIR model [1] with a Gaussian process prior over the parameters (the FIR coe cients). Linear models with Poisson, Gamma and Gaussian kernels have...

In this paper an approximate decorrelating detector is analyzed on the basis of a rst order ap proximation to the inverse crosscorrelation matrix of signature waveforms The approximation is fairly accurate for systems with low crosscorrelations and is exact in the two user synchronous case We present an exact as well as approximate analysis of the bit error rate performance of this detector on ...
