OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to investigate and compare the feasibility as well as potential impact of altered magnetic field properties on image quality and potential artifacts of 1.5 Tesla, 3 Tesla and 7 Tesla non-enhanced abdominal MRI. MATERIALS AND METHODS Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging of the upper abdomen was performed in 10 healthy volunteers on a 1.5 Tesla, a 3 Tesla and a 7...

Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT) has two synchrotron radiation sources, Indus-1 and Indus-2. Microtron is the common injector to both the machines. A new, FPGA based, control system architecture is planned in which it supervises and monitors different subsystems present for the operation of Microtron with the help of Equipment Control Modules (ECMs). At present some subsystem...

In this paper we propose an efficient authentication and integrity scheme to support DGPS corrections using the RTCM protocol, such that the identified vulnerabilities in DGPS are mitigated. The proposed scheme is based on the TESLA broadcast protocol with modifications that make it suitable for the bandwidth and processor constrained environment of marine DGPS.

One of the main challenges of securing broadcast communication is source authentication, or enabling receivers of broadcast data to verify that the received data really originates from the claimed source and was not modified en route. This problem is complicated by mutually untrusted receivers and unreliable communication environments where the sender does not retransmit lost packets. The autho...

We use MCMAS-X to verify authentication properties in the TESLA secure stream protocol. MCMAS-Xis an extension to explicit and deductive knowledge of the OBDD-based model checker MCMAS a verification tool for multi-agent systems.

Background: Polymer gel dosimeters combined with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be used for dose verification of advanced radiation therapy techniques. However, the uncertainty of dose map measured by gel dosimeter should be known. The purpose of this study is to investigate the uncertainty related to calibration curve and MRI protocol for MAGIC (Methacrylic and Ascorbic acid in Gelatin I...

Methods 10 patients with morphologically suspected cardiac myxomas on echocardiography and confirmed by post-operative histopathology were prospectively included. CMR was performed at 1.5 Tesla in all patients pre-operatively. Standard protocol for cardiac mass assessment included T1 mapping (pre and post contrast to calculate ECV) and T2 mapping. All data are reported as mean ± standard deviat...

INTRODUCTION In patients with carotid artery stenosis histological plaque composition is associated with plaque stability and with presenting symptomatology. Preferentially, plaque vulnerability should be taken into account in pre-operative work-up of patients with severe carotid artery stenosis. However, currently no appropriate and conclusive (non-) invasive technique to differentiate between...

BACKGROUND The presence of a cardiovascular implantable electronic device has long been a contraindication for the performance of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). We established a prospective registry to determine the risks associated with MRI at a magnetic field strength of 1.5 tesla for patients who had a pacemaker or implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) that was "non-MRI-conditional...
