Let G = GSp(2) be the symplectic group with similitude of degree two, which is defined over Q. For a generic cusp form F on the adelized group GA which generates a large discrete series representation at infinity, we show that its spinor Lfunction is continued to an entire function and satisfies the functional equation. 0. Introduction. Let G = GSp(2) be the symplectic group with similitude of ...
We study Whittaker functions on nonlinear coverings of simple algebraic groups over a non-archimedean local field. We produce a recipe for expressing such a Whittaker function as a weighted sum over a crystal graph, and show that in type A, these expressions agree with known formulae for the p-part of Multiple Dirichlet Series.
If F is a local field containing the group μn of n-th roots of unity, and if G is a split semisimple simply connected algebraic group, then Matsumoto [27] defined an n-fold covering group of G(F ), that is, a central extension of G(F ) by μn. Similarly if F is a global field with adele ring AF containing μn there is a cover G̃(AF ) of G(AF ) that splits over G(F ). The construction is built on i...
We establish a link between certain Whittaker coefficients of the generalized metaplectic theta functions, first studied by Kazhdan and Patterson [15], and the coefficients of the stable Weyl group multiple Dirichlet series defined in [3]. The generalized theta functions are the residues of Eisenstein series on a metaplectic n-fold cover of the general linear group. For n sufficiently large, we...
Unramified Whittaker functions and their analogues occur naturally in number theory as terms in the Fourier expansions of automorphic forms. Precise information about these functions is useful in many aspects of study, such as in the construction of L-functions. In this paper, the method of Casselman-Shalika is used to derive explicit values for the analogue of the unramified Whittaker function...
Let G be a connected reductive algebraic group defined over a non-Archimedean local field F . The study of Whittaker functions on G has a long history. For example, if G = GL(2), an explicit formula for the Whittaker function is well-known (See [5]). Shintani proved an explicit formula for the case G = GL(n) and expressed it by Schur polynomials in [16]. Casselman and Shalika generalized Shinta...
