Two new coordination polymers based on Zn(II) and 2,5-diiodoterephthalate—{[Zn(2,5-I-bdc)bpe}] (1) {[Zn(2,5-I-bdc)bpen}] (2)—were synthesized characterized. Polymers 1 2 feature halogen bonding between the I atoms of MOF DMF guest molecules, which plays a crucial role in structure stabilization. Selectivity sorption towards different organic substrates was examined.

A MOF-5 [Zn(4)O(BDC)(3); BDC = 1,4-benzenedicarboxylate]@SBA-15 hybrid material has been prepared by using SBA-15 as a matrix. This hybrid material exhibits improved hydrostability under ambient conditions and unique gas adsorption behavior compared with pristine MOF-5.
