The Channel Archiver [1] has been operational for more than two years at Los Alamos National Laboratory and other sites. This paper introduces the available components (data sampling engine, viewers, scripting interface, HTTP/CGI integration and data management), presents updated performance measurements [2] and reviews operational experience with the Channel Archiver.

We define a back-and-forth translation between Hole Semantics and dominance constraints, two formalisms used in underspecified semantics. There are fundamental differences between the two, but we show that they disappear on practically useful descriptions. Our encoding bridges a gap between two underspecification formalisms, and speeds up the processing of Hole Semantics.

This paper proposes rule formats for Structural Operational Semantics guaranteeing that certain constants act as left or right unit/zero elements for a set of binary operators. Examples of left and right zero, as well as unit, elements from the literature are shown to fit the rule formats offered in this study.

I will sketch a possible way of empirical/operational definition of space and time tags of physical events, without logical or operational circularities and with a minimal number of conventional elements. As it turns out, the task is not trivial; and the analysis of the problem leads to a few surprising conclusions.

Imperatives like ‘Post this letter or burn it!’ or ‘Take any card!’ are most naturally interpreted as presenting a choice between different alternatives. The article proposes an account of choice-offering imperatives and of their non-standard logical properties based on the framework of inquisitive semantics.
