In the title compound, C(9)H(15)N(3)O(4), the 1,3-dioxane ring displays a chair conformation and the five-membered ring is close to planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.054 Å). An intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond to one of the nitro-group O atoms generates an S(6) ring. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into C(6) chains propagating in [010] and a C-H⋯O link als...
A 1,4-addition of a dichlorogermylene dioxane complex with α,β-unsaturated imine 1 gave a dichlorogermane derivative 2 bearing a GeC₃N five-membered ring skeleton. By reducing 2 with KC₈, cyclic (alkyl)(amino)germylene 3 was synthesized and fully characterized. Germylene 3 readily reacted with TEMPO, N₂O and S₈, producing the 1:2 adduct 4, the oxo-bridged dimer 5 and the sulfido-bridged dimer 6...
In the title compound, C13H19NO3, the dioxane ring adopts a chair conformation. Its mean plane is inclined to the 4-meth-oxy-phenyl ring by 70.34 (9)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by pairs of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers with an R (2) 2(16) ring motif. The dimers are linked via C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming two-dimensional networks lying parallel to the ac plane.
We have investigated the effect of pressure on imidazolium C-H---O interactions in 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)amide (EMI(+)TFSA(-))/L64 and EMI(+)TFSA(-)/1,4-dioxane mixtures. The addition of Pluronic L64 to EMI(+)TFSA(-) leads to appreciable changes in band frequencies and shapes of the imidazolium C-H stretching bands. A possible explanation is the formation of C-...
Bis(chlorotetrylene)s of Si, Ge, and Sn have been synthetically realized starting from the backbone-bridged bis(amidine) 1. Double deprotonation 1 subsequent reaction with trichlorosilane affords bis(dichorosilane) 2, which is converted to respective bis(chlorosilylene) 3 by dehydrochlorination using lithium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide. The related bis(chlorogermylene) 4 bis(chlorostannylene) 5 ar...
Introduction 1,4-Dioxane is used mainly as a stabilizer for 1,1,1-trichloroethane for transport in aluminum containers. It is an irritant to eyes and respiratory system and suspected of causing damage to nervous system, liver, and kidneys.1 In 2008, testing sponsored by the U.S. Organic Consumers Association found dioxane in almost half of tested organic personal-care products.1 Of the total 1....
The influence of temperature and solvent effects on the reduction and amination mechanisms of iodomethane by lithium N,N-diisopropylaminoborohydride (iPr-LAB) was examined in varying concentrations of THF and dioxane. The reactions of benzyl chloride and trimethylsilyl chloride with iPr-LAB in THF were also studied. The amination of iodomethane is favored over reduction at low and room temperat...
Solvent effects play a very important role in photochemical reactions and energy transfer processes in solution; however, these effects are rarely mentioned in the triplet-triplet annihilation (TTA) upconversion fluorescence experiments. In a typical TTA upconversion system of a photosensitizer of diiodo-Bodipy (I2-Bodipy) and a triplet acceptor of perylene, five common inert solvents, hexane, ...
The ability of the antibacterial agent sulfameter (SMT) to form solvates is investigated. The X-ray crystal structures of sulfameter solvates have been determined to be conformational polymorphs. Both 1,4-dioxane and tetrahydrofuran form solvates with sulfameter in a 1:1 molar ratio. 4-Amino-N-(5-methoxypyrimidin-2-yl)benzenesulfonamide (polymorph III), C11H12N4O3S, (1), has two molecules of su...
