Random or stochastic integral equations are important in the study of many physical phenomena in life sciences, engineering, and technology 1–13 . Currently there are two basic versions of stochastic integral equations being studied bymathematical statisticians and probabilists namely, those integral equations involving Ito-Doob type of stochastic integrals and those which can be formed as prob...

In this article, the anti-plane deformation of an orthotropic sector with multiple defects is studied analytically. The solution of a Volterra-type screw dislocation problem in a sector is first obtained by means of a finite Fourier cosine transform. The closed form solution is then derived for displacement and stress fields over the sector domain. Next, the distributed dislocation method is em...

An ecient method, based on the Legendre wavelets, is proposed to solve thesecond kind Fredholm and Volterra integral equations of Hammerstein type. The properties of Legendre wavelet family are utilized to reduce a nonlinearintegral equation to a system of nonlinear algebraic equations, which is easilyhandled with the well-known Newton's method. Examples assuring eciencyof the method and its sup...

Large-scale simulations often need dynamic access to heterogeneous data resources such as sensors, databases, or other simulations. The Agent-Based Environment for Linking Simulations (ABELS) is designed to facilitate the dynamic formation of a “cloud” of independent simulations and other data resources for the exchange of information. Participants in the data and simulation cloud join and exit...

Introduction Quadratic integral equations provide an important tool for modeling the numerous problems in engineering and science. These equations appear in the modeling of radiative transfer, kinetic theory of gases, traffic theory, neutron transport and in many other phenomena [2-7]. So, it is clear that solving this class of integral equations can be used to describe many events in the real ...

This paper describes an approximating solution, based on Lagrange interpolation and spline functions, to treat functional integral equations of Fredholm type and Volterra type. This method can be extended to functional differential and integro-differential equations. For showing efficiency of the method we give some numerical examples.
