Introduction Web information technologies (WebIT) can be harnessed to deliver reliable, secure, interactive, adaptive and individualized communications. While managing research projects involving information systems can be complicated, the unique, high level desired functionalities in consumer-focused tailored WebIT merit special attention. Specific requirements for these applications require a...
Introduction: Heel pad injuries can have devastating and debilitating consequences. All efforts to primarily reapproximate the heel should be undertaken. Reconstruction of often require multiple complex surgeries including microvascular flaps tissue transfers. There is a paucity successful techniques for primary repair in literature. Controlling virtual characters in AR games for modern smartphones is even more challenging than controls for ‘pure’ VR games because the player has to keep the AR world in view. We propose six interaction concepts based on combinations of both physical and virtual buttons and sensor input and suggest an evaluation according to game experience criteria.
We outline a novel approach to human-computer interaction, with soft-buttons using a non-structured touch surface and auditory display. Introduction We have developed a novel software defined interaction widget (human-computer interface component) based on a pseudo-haptic user experience using auditory display. The term pseudo-haptic in this context means that the user can move his or her finge...
Aesthetics or " look and feel " is one of the most important features of any graphical user interface. Better aesthetics makes the interface user-friendlier and more popular. Better aesthetics helps the user to understand the meaning of various components and memorize the navigation paths. A better look and feel ultimately makes a GUI more efficient and effective. Various methods are adopted to...
The Dynavision apparatus was developed to measure and train a number of psychomotor s u s , including visual scanning, peripheral visual awareness, and visuomotor reaction time (Performance Enterprises, 1992). Although several rehabilitation and human performance centers currently use the apparatus in occupational therapy and sport-related training, no reports of reliability have been published...
For visually-impaired people interacting with touchscreens can be very complex because of the lack of hardware keys or tactile references. We investigate how a multimodal approach can overcome this issue. We propose a prototype which exploits haptic feedback as a support for detecting the numpad and special buttons.
