The development of a method to analyze molecular tagging velocimetry data based on the Hough transform is presented. This method, based on line fitting, parameterizes the grid lines "written" into a flowfield. Initial proof-of-principle illustration of this method was performed to obtain two-component velocity measurements in the wake of a cylinder in a Mach 4.6 flow, using a data set derived f...

Licentiate Thesis ii Abstract Motion analysis is an important task in computer vision. In this work, a short overview of motion estimation techniques is presented and motion detection by a new Hough-like technique, the Randomized Hough Transform (RHT) is studied. The Standard Hough Transform and its applications to motion estimation are shortly introduced. The ideas of the RHT are presented and...

Quantization-free parameter space reduction in ellipse detection Kuang Chung Chen Ellipse modeling and detection is an important task in many computer vision and pattern recognition applications. In this thesis, four Hough-based transform algorithms have been carefully selected, studied and analyzed. These techniques include the Standard Hough Transform, Probabilistic Hough Transform, Randomize...

Randomized Hough Transform (RHT) has been recently proposed as a new and eecient variation of the Hough Transform for curve detection. In this paper the RHT is combined with the Fuzzy Cell Hough Transform (FCHT) and a new variation, the Randomized Fuzzy Cell Hough Transform (RFCHT) is proposed. The p-dimensional parameter space of Hough Transform is split into fuzzy cells with overlapped interv...

The Hough transform is a widely used tool for line detection mainly due to its robustness to noise; on the other hand, it is also known to be computationally expensive, thus often preventing from real-time operation. In this paper we evaluate the performance of an all-integer version of the Hough transform, implemented without floating point operations. We show that the integer transform is 2 t...

A method for locating underground pipes from a pulse radar image is presented. The method employs the Laplacian of Gaussian filter to extract edges and employs the Hough transform to determine the depth of the pipes. A preliminary experiment showed its ability to detect deeply buried pipes with weak signal echoes. key words: radar image, Hough transform, LoG filter, underground locating

The present work focus on the identification of malignant neoplasias in breast by using the Hough Transform in digital images. A detector of circumference was implemented based on the Hough Transform once the pattern to identify is circular. The detector presented here was developed using MatLab, and was applied to detect circumferences in tomography images.

We extend the velocity Hough transform (VHT) for tracking objects with arbitrary velocity by ®nding an optimal, smooth trajectory that maximises its associated energy. Optimisation is achieved by temporal dynamic programming (DP). Tracking in noise is much superior to the standard Hough transform (SHT).
