A low level of relationship satisfaction is one of the best predictors of divorce in married couples, yet research has yet to clarify how relationship satisfaction changes during the first few years of marriage. This study sought to model the developmental trajectory of relationship satisfaction and demand-withdraw communication in newly married couples. Structural equation modeling was used to...

literature proves the importance of the process role in the effectiveness of virtual research and development (R&D) teams for new product development (NPD). However, the factors that make process construct in a virtual R&D team are still unclear. The manager of virtual R&D teams for NPD does not know which items of process should be used. To address the gap and answer the question, the study pr...

The FDI approach to model-based diagnosis is considered. We present a method for residual generation that combines integral and derivative causality, and also utilizes equation system solvers and theory of differential-algebraic equation systems. To achieve this, a framework for computation of variables from sets of dependent differential and/or algebraic equations is introduced. The proposed m...

This paper examines the relationships between supplier development efforts and buyer competitive advantage from the buyer’s perspective, and seeks to understand how specific supplier development efforts may impact on a buyer’s operational performance. We conducted a survey of 142 electronics manufacturing companies in Hong Kong, and applied structural equation modeling (SEM) to test a structura...

In seeking suitable Runge-Kutta methods for differential algebraic equations, we consider singly-implicit methods to which are appended diagonally-implicit stages. Methods of this type are either similar to those of Butcher and Cash or else allow for the importation of a final derivative from a previous step. For these two classes, with up to three additional diagonallyimplicit stages, we deriv...

Constrained Hamiltonian systems represent a special class of differential algebraic equations appearing in many mechanical problems. We survey some possibilities for exploiting their rich geometric structures in the numerical integration of the systems. Our main theme is the construction of underlying equations for which the constraint manifold possesses good stability properties. As an applica...

We relate two parameter solutions of the sixth Painlevé equation and finite-gap solutions of the Heun equation by considering monodromy on a certain class of Fuchsian differential equations. In the appendix, we present formulae on differentials of elliptic modular functions, and obtain the ellitic form of the sixth Painlevé equation directly.

The exactitude of petroleum fluid molecular weight correlations affects significantly the precision engineering calculations and can make process design trouble-shooting inaccurate. Some methods in literature to predict are used commercial software simulators. According statements made literature, Lee–Kesler Twu most engineering, other do not exhibit any significant advantages over correlations...

Age estimation from human skeletal remains is a critical component of the biological profile for unidentified decedents. Using Bayesian approach, we examine two popular methods (Lovejoy–LJ, and Buckberry zand Chamberlain–BC) estimating age auricular surface ilium. Ages transition are generated modern Portuguese sample (n = 466) coupled with an informative prior historic Spitalfields, London 179...

We determine the solutions of a nonlinear Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation which arises in the modelling of mean-variance hedging subject to a terminal condition. Firstly we establish those forms of the equation which admit the maximal number of Lie point symmetries and then examine each in turn. We show that the Lie method is only suitable for an equation of maximal symmetry. We indicate the a...
