15 years old male reported with diminution of vision in the left eye of three months duration. He had a cystic lesion in the inferonasal area of the cornea straddling the limbus, partially on the cornea and partially on the sclera. Surgical excision of the lesion revealed it to be a continuous intrascleral and intracorneal cyst. Histopathology confirmed it to be a calcified cysticercosis.

We discuss the Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence. We introduce a concept of monotonicity which is related to the diminution of the range between belief and plausibility. We show that the accumulation of knowledge in this framework exhibits a nonmonotonic property. We show how the belief structure can be used to represent typical or commonsense knowledge.

Four infants with myocardial dysfunction associated with a persistent transitional circulation were given dopamine infusions in addition to standard treatment. The condition of each improved strikingly with rapid diminution in heart size as judged by chest x-ray. Dopamine has a place in the management of the sick infant with a persistent transitional circulation.
