We present a relativistic calculation of pion scattering, pion pho-toproduction and Compton scattering on the nucleon in the energy region of the ∆-resonance (upto 450 MeV photon lab energy), in a unified framework which obeys the unitarity constraint. It is found that the recent data on the cross section for nucleon Compton scattering determine accurately the parameters of the electromagnetic ...

The dressed K-matrix model, developed previously for lowand intermediate-energy Compton scattering, is generalized to calculate the photon-nucleon vertex with a virtual photon and an off-shell nucleon. This model was used to compute the ratio of the proton electromagnetic form factors. The calculated ratio is in excellent agreement with the ratio measured in polarized electron-proton scattering.

This paper considers the numerical simulation of 2D electromagnetic wave scattering problems and describes the construction of a reduced–order approximation which enables the rapid prediction of the scattering width distribution for a range of incident wave directions. Associated certainty bounds ensure confidence in the results of the computed approximation. Numerical examples are included to ...

We discuss several approximate methods for computing electromagnetic scattering by objects of complex shape. Dependingon the relative size of the scatterer compared to the incident wavelength, diierent techniques have to be designed. We review some of them which are often used in practice, and present numerical results of scattering by complex objects.

We consider the inverse electromagnetic scattering problem for perfectly conducting screens. We solve this problem by modifying the linear sampling method formulated in [3] for the case of scattering obstacles with nonempty interior. Numerical examples are given for screens in R.

Many-body scattering problem is solved asymptotically when the size of the particles tends to zero and the number of the particles tends to infinity. A method is given for calculation of the number of small particles and their boundary impedances such that embedding of these particles in a bounded domain, filled with known material, results in creating a new material with a desired refraction c...

|In this paper, the authors use the adaptive integral method (AIM) to simulate the electromagnetic scattering from large complex PEC objects. The rst problem that we have investigated is the scattering from a dihedral corner re®ector that may lead to a better understanding of scattering mechanisms and properties of more complex geometries. The second problem investigated is scattering from a ...

Scattering of electromagnetic (EM) waves by one and many small (ka 1) impedance particles Dm of an arbitrary shape, embedded in a homogeneous medium, is studied. Analytic formula for the field, scattered by one particle, is derived. The scattered field is of the order O(a2−κ), where κ ∈ [0, 1) is a number. This field is much larger than in the Rayleigh-type scattering. An equation is derived fo...

Inverse scattering algorithms for reconstructing the physical properties of sea ice from scattered electromagnetic field data are presented. The development of these algorithms has advanced the theory of remote sensing, particularly in the microwave region, and has the potential to form the basis for a new generation of techniques for recovering sea ice properties, such as ice thickness, a para...

Observation of parity non-conservation in deep-inelastic scattering of polarized electrons from deuterium was reported in an experiment at SLAC in 1978. The events at SLAC and elsewhere leading to the successful search for parity non-conservation in the electromagnetic processes are described.
