We have employed attenuated total reflection Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy sATR-FTIRSd to monitor the profile evolution of patterned mesoporous, low-dielectric-constant SiO2 films in situ and in real time during plasma etching. A stack of patterned photoresist, anti-reflective coating, and mesoporous SiO2 is etched in an inductively coupled plasma reactor, using CHF3 and Ar. During e...

We study stability of axisymmetric liquid bridges between two axisymmetric solid bodies in the absence of gravity under arbitrary asymmetric perturbations which are expanded into a set of angular Fourier modes. We determine the stability region boundary for every angular mode in case of both fixed and free contact lines. Application of this approach allows us to demonstrate existence of stable ...

The Fourier transform Raman (FT-Raman) and infrared absorption (FTIR) spectra of form II poly(vinylidene fluoride) have been recorded and analysed. A complete spectral analysis, assignments to observed bands, normal coordinate analysis and discussion of the spectra are presented. The computed spectrum is in excellent agreement with experiment. The potential energy distribution (PED) is evaluate...

We report on a new high-resolution optical spectroscopy, coherent phonon measurement, for determining the chiral index of carbon nanotubes. Using femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy, we demonstrate the real-time observation of lattice vibrations in individualized single-walled carbon nanotubes in an aqueous surfactant solution. Almost all available radial breathing modes in the Fourier transfor...

The problem of an open string in background B-field is discussed. Using the dis-cretized model in details we show that the system is influenced by infinite number of second class constraints. We interpret the allowed Fourier modes as the coordinates of the reduced phase space. This enables us to compute the Dirac brackets more easily. We show that the coordinates of the string are non-commutative.

We propose to find the propagation constants of modes in layered media by means of signal identification methods. To this effect we employ Cauchy’s theorem, conformal mapping and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) techniques to generate relevant Hankel moments, afterwards to be processed with selected signal identification algorithms. The method, terminated by a few Newton steps, provides a batch of ...

The exact vector integral solution for all the electromagnetic field components of a general flattened Gaussian laser mode is derived by using the angular spectrum method. This solution includes the pure and annular Gaussian modes as special cases. The integrals are of the form of Gegenbauer's finite integral and are computed analytically for each case, yielding fields satisfying the Maxwell eq...

I SLAGPUE3396 August 1984 (A/I) An array of 12 calibrated RF electric Beld probea on the waveguide walls are used to ~mplc the complex Keld profile at the Ncond and third bumonic~~ where the fundamental power &I in the 40 MW range at 2856 MHr. The meuured amplitude and phase &-nala from these probea are Fourier l nalyred to determine with good accuracy the power in each of the Mary possible pro...

Axisymmetric pulsations of rotating neutron stars can be excited in several scenarios, such as core-collapse, crust and core-quakes and binary mergers and could become detectable either in gravitational waves or high-energy radiation. Here, we present a comprehensive study of all low-order axisymmetric modes of uniformly and rapidly rotating relativistic stars. Initial stationary configurations...

General solutions and conditions are presented for paraxial waves that image themselves with different scales through free propagation. These waves, represented as superpositions of Gauss-Laguerre modes, have finite energy and thus finite effective width. The self-imaging wave fields described by Montgomery [J. Opt. Soc. Am. 57, 772 (1967)], which possess a Fourier transform that is confined to...
