This paper introduces a framework for the evaluation of geographic information (GI), divided into representational and communicative aspects. The representational component is concerned with how ‘real-world’ phenomena situated in space and time come to be represented or modelled in GI, considered at ontological, modelling and system levels. The communicative component of GI is concerned with ho...

The GI tract is the most exposed organ to proteases, both in physiological and pathophysiological conditions. For digestive purposes, the lumen of the upper GI tract contains large amounts of pancreatic proteases, but studies have also demonstrated increased proteolytic activity into mucosal tissues (both in the upper and lower GI tract), associated with pathological conditions. This review aim...

This paper deals with the graph isomorphism (GI) problem for two graph classes: chordal bipartite graphs and strongly chordal graphs. It is known that GI problem is GI complete even for some special graph classes including regular graphs, bipartite graphs, chordal graphs, comparability graphs, split graphs, and k-trees with unbounded k. On the other side, the relative complexity of the GI probl...

Ghost imaging (GI) is a technique to retrieve images by correlating intensity fluctuations. In this Letter, we present novel scheme for GI referred as second-order cumulants (SCGI). The image retrieved from fluctuation information, and resolution may be enhanced compared traditional GI. We experimentally performed SCGI reconstruction, the results are in agreement with theoretical predictions.

BACKGROUND Guideline implementation tools (GI tools) can improve clinician behavior and patient outcomes. Analyses of guidelines published before 2010 found that many did not offer GI tools. Since 2010 standards, frameworks and instructions for GI tools have emerged. This study analyzed the number and types of GI tools offered by guidelines published in 2010 or later. METHODS Content analysis...

Drug delivery to the gastrointestinal (GI) tract is key for improving treatment of GI maladies, developing oral vaccines, and facilitating drug transport into circulation. However, delivery of formulations to the GI tract is hindered by pH changes, degradative enzymes, mucus, and peristalsis, leading to poor GI retention. Targeting may prolong residence of therapeutics in the GI tract and enhan...

OBJECTIVE To develop a candidate definition for central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) in neonates with presumed mucosal barrier injury due to gastrointestinal (MBI-GI) conditions and to evaluate epidemiology and microbiology of MBI-GI CLABSI in infants. DESIGN Multicenter retrospective cohort study. SETTING Neonatal intensive care units from 14 US children's hospitals and p...

abstract background: atherosclerosis and subsequent coronary artery disease is the leading cause of death in iranian population. high serum lipid levels, especially the elevated level of low-density lipoprotein (ldl), have been shown to be strongly related to the development of atherosclerosis. the relationship between dietary glycemic index (gi) and lipid profile, particularly in nonwestern po...

GIGANTEA (GI) was originally identified by a late-flowering mutant in Arabidopsis, but subsequently has been shown to act in circadian period determination, light inhibition of hypocotyl elongation, and responses to multiple abiotic stresses, including tolerance to high salt and cold (freezing) temperature. Genetic mapping and analysis of families of heterogeneous inbred lines showed that natur...

Clinicopathologic information of gastrointestinal (GI) lymphoma in Southeast Asia is lacking. A retrospective analysis of 120 cases of GI lymphoma in Thailand diagnosed at Siriraj Hospital based on WHO classification was performed. All were non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). The peak age was in the sixth and seventh decades; a slight male preponderance was observed. Sites of involvement included stoma...
