Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a malignant adult brain tumor that visualized as an enhancing lesion on post-contrast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In this study, we present rare case of non-enhancing GBM required histopathological examination for definitive diagnosis. Our findings emphasize the critical role biopsy in diagnosis and treatment GBMs, particularly cases lesions MRI.

BACKGROUND The relationship between occupational exposure to magnetic fields and brain cancer in men was investigated using population-based case-control data collected in eight Canadian provinces. Emphasis was placed on examining the variations in risk across different histological types. METHODS A list of occupations was compiled for 543 cases and 543 controls that were individually matched...

In many aggressive cancers, such as glioblastoma multiforme, progression is enabled by local immunosuppression driven by the accumulation of regulatory T cells (Treg) and myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC). However, the mechanistic details of how Tregs and MDSCs are recruited in various tumors are not yet well understood. Here we report that macrophages and microglia within the glioma micr...

INTRODUCTION Brainstem gliomas are rare in adults. They most commonly occur in the pons and are most likely to be high-grade lesions. The diagnosis of a high-grade brainstem glioma is usually reached due to the presentation of rapidly progressing brainstem, cranial nerve and cerebellar symptoms. These symptoms do, however, overlap with a variety of other central nervous system disorders. Magnet...

The most lethal form of brain cancer, glioblastoma multiforme, is characterized by rapid growth and invasion facilitated by cell migration and degradation of the extracellular matrix. Despite technological advances in surgery and radio-chemotherapy, glioblastoma remains largely resistant to treatment. New approaches to study glioblastoma and to design optimized therapies are greatly needed. One...

A case of glioblastoma multiforme disappearing on CT after a course of dexamethasone is reported. The possibility of mistaking this for lymphoma is discussed. There is no other case similar to this described in the literature.
