Abstract In recent years, researchers have scrutinised the power of digital platforms in news industry. However, while are powerful actors, there is a tendency to emphasise this at expense other institutions. chapter we examine critical role that government, regulatory authorities and media played developing Australian News Media Digital Platforms Mandatory Bargaining Code. We explore how long-...
This paper summarises the main outcomes of the Mobile Resource Guarantees (MRG) project, which focused on a proof-carrying-code (PCC) infrastructure for resources to be applied to mobile code. MRG was a three year project funded by the EC under the FET proactive initiative on Global Computing. We give an overview of the projects’ results, discuss the lessons learnt from it and introduce follow-...
Outline: There are 3 sections: I. Processes and Methods, II. More detailed requirements and code descriptions, and III. Implementation. Processes and methods attempt to describe the critical processes, and possible approaches used or proposed for global models. The requirements and code description section provide information about fields required by the microphysics from CAM to produce a reaso...
We present Goblint, a static analyzer for detecting potential data races in the multithreaded C code. The implemented analysis is sound on a “safe” subset of C and sufficiently efficient to be used for race-detection of multithreaded programs up to about 25 thousand lines of code. It uses a global invariant approach to avoid the state space explosion problem and is both contextand path-sensitive.
We generate a native pattern language from a context-free grammar. So if we have the underlying grammar of code that needs to be analyzed, or renovated the pattern language comes for free. We use native patterns for recognition and renovation of code. The pattern language is global in the sense that patterns can match entire programs. We illustrate native patterns by discussing a tool that reme...
In this paper, a low complexity long pseudo noise (PN) code acquisition scheme is proposed for spread spectrum systems including global positioning system (GPS) and code division multiple access (CDMA) system. By using a phaseshift-network, the proposed scheme has less complexity than the conventional dual correlating sequential estimation scheme. From the analytic and numerical results, it is ...

DNA barcoding is a new term introduced in to scientific literatures by Hebert and coworkers almost a decade ago. The concept of barcoding alone is well-known to the public: a series of black bars printed on many commercial products (Universal Product Code), which are used to distinguish different products. Advances made in molecular biology and molecular techniques late 20th century e.g. sequen...
A multiuser detector for direct-sequence code-division multiple-access systems based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed. To work around potentially computational intractability, the proposed scheme exploits heuristics in consideration of both global and local exploration maximum likelihood (ML). Computer simulation demonstrates that the proposed detector offers near-opti...
