In this paper, we study the risk bounds for samples independently drawn from an infinitely divisible (ID) distribution. In particular, based on a martingale method, we develop two deviation inequalities for a sequence of random variables of an ID distribution with zero Gaussian component. By applying the deviation inequalities, we obtain the risk bounds based on the covering number for the ID d...

We prove that many of beta, beta prime, gamma, inverse gamma, Student tand ultraspherical distributions are freely infinitely divisible, but some of them are not. The latter negative result follows from a local property of probability density functions. Moreover, we show that the Gaussian, many of ultraspherical and Student t-distributions have free divisibility indicator 1.

The aim of this paper is to develop a model of the respiratory system. The real bronchial tree is embedded within the parenchyma, and ventilation is caused by negative pressures at the alveolar level. We aim to describe the series of pressures at alveolae in the form of a function, and to establish a sound mathematical framework for the instantaneous ventilation process. To that end, we treat t...

We provide results for implementing resilient consensus for a (countably) infinite collection of processes. – For a known number of faults, we prove the following equivalence result: For every t ≥ 1, there is a t-resilient consensus object for infinitely many processes if and only if there is a t-resilient consensus object for t + 1 processes. – For an unknown or infinite number of faults, we c...

Allowing templates with infinite domains greatly expands the range of problems that can be formulated as a non-uniform constraint satisfaction problem. It turns out that many CSPs over infinite templates can be formulated with templates that are ω-categorical. We survey examples of such problems in temporal and spatial reasoning, infinite-dimensional algebra, acyclic colorings in graph theory, ...

The Time-Domain Boundary Element Method (TDBEM) is a well known numerical technique that handles quite properly dynamic analyses considering infinite dimension media. However, when these analyses are also related to nonlinear behavior, very complex numerical procedures arise considering the TD-BEM, which may turn its application prohibitive. In order to avoid this drawback and model nonlinear i...

in this paper, we introduce and study a mixed variational inclusion problem involving infinite family of fuzzy mappings. an iterative algorithm is constructed for solving a mixed variational inclusion problem involving infinite family of fuzzy mappings and the convergence of iterative sequences generated by the proposed algorithm is proved. some illustrative examples are also given.

We introduce generalized register automata (GRAs) and study their properties and applications in reasoning about systems and specifications over infinite domains. We show that GRAs can capture both VLTL – a logic that extends LTL with variables over infinite domains, and abstract systems – finite state systems whose atomic propositions are parameterized by variable over infinite domains. VLTL a...

a normed space $mathfrak{x}$ is said to have the fixed point property, if for each nonexpansive mapping $t : e longrightarrow e $ on a nonempty bounded closed convex subset $ e $ of $ mathfrak{x} $ has a fixed point. in this paper, we first show that if $ x $ is a locally compact hausdorff space then the following are equivalent: (i) $x$ is infinite set, (ii) $c_0(x)$ is infinite dimensional, (...

Let $R$ be an infinite ring. Here we prove that if $0_R$ belongs to ${x_1x_2cdots x_n ;|; x_1,x_2,dots,x_nin X}$ for every infinite subset $X$ of $R$, then $R$ satisfies the polynomial identity $x^n=0$. Also we prove that if $0_R$ belongs to ${x_1x_2cdots x_n-x_{n+1} ;|; x_1,x_2,dots,x_n,x_{n+1}in X}$ for every infinite subset $X$ of $R$, then $x^n=x$ for all $xin R$.
