Human statistics are numerical attributes defined on humans, for example, longevity, height, weight, IQ, and it is well-known, at least empirically, that these are, each separately, asymptotically normal, which means that if you draw a histogram with the statistical data, it would look like a bell-curve. It is also true that they are usually joint-asymptotically-normal, but usually not independ...

A self-contained statistical analysis of the Pisarenko method for estimating sinusoidal frequencies from signal measurements corrupted by white noise is presented. An explicit formula is provided for the asymptotic covariance matrix of the joint estimation errors of the minimum eigenvalue and the minimum eigenfilter coefficients of the data covariance matrix. Our theoretical results extend and ...

We use joint probability matrices for measurements at different times to describe chaotic systems. By coarse graining the range of the measured variable into uniformly sized bins we can generate matrices that contain both topological and metric information about the systems being studied. Armed with this tool we examine two extreme families of chaotic systems. In the case of one-dimensional pie...

a new three-dimensional unit cell model has been developed for modeling three constituent phases including inclusion, interphase and matrix. the total elastic modulus of nano-composite is evaluated.  numerical results are in good agreement with the previous proposed theoretical modeling. higher matrix and inclusion elastic modulus both can dramatically influence the total elastic modulus.

in this paper, we present a numerical algorithm for solving matrix equations $(a otimes b)x = f$  by extending the well-known gaussian elimination for $ax = b$. the proposed algorithm has a high computational efficiency. two numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Techniques for the separate/joint optimization of error-feedback and realization are developed to minimize the roundoff noise subject to l2-norm dynamic-range scaling constraints for a class of 2-D state-space digital filters. In the joint optimization, the problem at hand is converted into an unconstrained optimization problem by using linearalgebraic techniques. The unconstrained problem obta...

This paper proposes a preamble structure for joint estimation of carrier frequency offset (CFO) and I/Q imbalance. Because existing methods cannot guarantee correct solutions within all range of CFOs, we derive two constraints of phase rotations applied to repetition patterns. By using the preamble based on the presented constraints, CFO is optimally estimated, and I/Q imbalance estimation is p...

In this paper, the numerical technique based on hybrid Bernoulli and Block-Pulse functions has been developed to approximate the solution of system of linear Volterra integral equations. System of Volterra integral equations arose in many physical problems such as elastodynamic, quasi-static visco-elasticity and magneto-electro-elastic dynamic problems. These functions are formed by the hybridi...

The paper presents a new microplane constitutive model for the inelastic behavior of jointed rock masses that takes into account the mechanical behavior and geometric characteristics of cracks and joints. The basic idea is that the microplane modeling of rock masses under general triaxial loading, including compression, requires the isotropic rock matrix and the joints to be considered as two d...

In this paper, a new method based on parametric form for approximate solu-tion of fuzzy linear matrix equations (FLMEs) of the form AX = B; where Ais a crisp matrix, B is a fuzzy number matrix and the unknown matrix X one,is presented. Then a numerical example is presented to illustrate the proposedmodel.
