Signal processing and pattern recognition algorithms make extensive use of convolution. In many cases, computational accuracy is not as important as computational speed. In feature extraction, for instance, the features of interest in a signal are usually quite distorted. This form of noise justi es some level of quantization in order to achieve faster feature extraction. Our approach consists ...

in this paper, we introduce new classes $sum_{k,p,n}(alpha ,m,lambda ,l,rho )$ and $mathcal{t}_{k,p,n}(alpha ,m,lambda ,l,rho )$ of p-valent meromorphic functions defined by using the extended multiplier transformation operator. we use a strong convolution technique and derive inclusion results. a radius problem and some other interesting properties of these classes are discussed.

Let M(S) be the Banach algebra of all bounded regular Borel measures on a locally compact Hausdorff semitopological semigroup S with variation norm and convolution as multiplication. We obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for M(S)∗ to have a topologically left invariant mean.

In this paper, we give a fundamental convexity preserving for spectral functions. Indeed, we investigate infimal convolution, Moreau envelope and proximal average for convex spectral functions, and show that this properties are inherited from the properties of its corresponding convex function. This results have many applications in Applied Mathematics such as semi-definite programmings and eng...

In this article, two types of Hardy's inequalities for the twisted convolution with Laguerre functions are studied. The proofs are mainly based on an estimate for the Heisenberg left-invariant vectors of the special Hermite functions deduced by the Heisenberg group approach.

Let n = ∏ p p νp(n) denote the canonical factorization of n ∈ N. The binomial convolution of arithmetical functions f and g is defined as (f ◦g)(n) = ∑ d|n (∏ p (νp(n) νp(d) )) f(d)g(n/d), where ( a b ) is the binomial coefficient. We provide properties of the binomial convolution. We study the Calgebra (A,+, ◦,C), characterizations of completely multiplicative functions, Selberg multiplicative...

In this paper, we study three interconnected inverse problems in shift invariant spaces: 1) the convolution/deconvolution problem; 2) the uniformly sampled convolution and the reconstruction problem; 3) the sampled convolution followed by sampling on irregular grid and the reconstruction problem. In all three cases, we study both the stable reconstruction as well as ill-posed reconstruction pro...

Deformation is a powerful tool for shape modeling and computer animation. In this paper we present a new local deformation model based on convolution surfaces. After a user specifies a series of constraints, which can consist of line segments, arcs and quadratic curves, their effective radii and maximum displacements, the deformation model creates a set of convolution surfaces taking the constr...

Threshold dynamics and its extensions have proven useful in computing interfacial motions in applications as diverse as materials science and machine learning. Certain desirable properties of the algorithm, such as unconditional monotonicity in two-phase flows and gradient stability more generally, hinge on positivity properties of the convolution kernel and its Fourier transform. Recent develo...
