Abstract:In telecommunications, there are several types of microstrip antennas, the most common of which is microstrip patch antenna. Patch antennas are also relatively inexpensive to manufacture and design because of simple 2D physical geometry. In this paper Two L slits are introduced at the both edge of the patch to reduce the resonant frequency. The proposed antenna is developed to operate ...
In this paper, design of an aperture-coupled microstrip antenna (ACMSA) using differential evolution algorithm (DE) is described. The classical transmission line model for microstrip antenna is used to determine fitness function for DE and computed results are compared with the results obtained using particle swarm optimization (PSO) and binary coded genetic
In this paper, a radial line microstrip antenna array (RL-MSAA) for linear polarization is designed. Stacked microstrip antennas (MSAs) with a stub element in the upper parasitic element are arrayed on a radial waveguide as a phase-controllable radiation element. A prototype array with three concentric rows of the stacked MSAs is tested in 12 GHz.
(1.5 cm higher than coil planes). The combination sensitivity is homogeneous along strip direction. Fig 4. In the 16-ch microstrip array, adjacent elements with 1 and 2 harmonic resonance are intrinsically decoupled with more than 22dB. Fig 1. Circuits of microstrip coils with 1 ,2 and 4 harmonic resonance (left), equivalent circuits based on mirror theory (middle), and current distribution alo...
Over the past years microstrip resonators have been widely used in the range of microwave frequencies. In general these structures are poor radiators, but by proper design the radiation performance can be improved and these structures can be used as antenna elements (Damiano & Papiernik, 1994). In recent years microstrip patch antennas became one of the most popular antenna types for use in aer...
The microstrip patch is one of the most preferred antenna structures for ofordable and compact design for wireless system and RF applications. This paper compares the rectangular patch antenna and equilateral triangular microstrip antenna in terms of their return losses and radiation pattern. For the comparative study the Ansoft HFSS V11 is used. Keywords— rectangular micro strip antenna, retur...
In this paper, a very brief and comprehensive survey of recent trends and developments in microstrip antenna research is presented. Comparatively newer fields with potential scope of developments are discussed in more detail. Some advanced topics of microstrip antennas still find enormous scope of improvements and are covered in the limited scope of this article.
In this paper, the cavity model of a microstrip patch antenna in conjunction with the reciprocity theorem is used to develop a fast analytical solution for the radiation field of a microstrip patch antenna loaded with a novel artificial magnetic superstrate and to investigate the effect of the engineered superstrate layer on the directivity and radiation pattern of the printed patch antenna.
If is well known that microstrip transmission line coupling can provide reliable and inexpensive filtering at microwave frequencies (1 ,2,3). As fiber optic communications and personal wireless communications systems evolve, microstrip filters designed on a wide variety of dielectric materials and board thicknesses will be required in microwave sub-carrier transmission equipment (4) and pocket-...
The application of Genetic Algorithm (GA) to the optimization of gain of microstrip antenna, fabricated on ferrite substrate, biased externally by a steady magnetic field, is reported. The fitness function for the GA program is developed using cavity method for the analysis of microstrip antenna. The computed results are compared with the results obtained using GA optimizer of MATLAB.
