Three specimens of the nematode Crenosoma vulpis (Rudolphi, 1819) were isolated from the lungs of the Eurasian badger (Meles meles L.) found dead on a road in the north-western part of Wrocław (Lower Silesia, SW. Poland) in August 2008. Since this is the first record of the parasite in the badger from Poland, description, biometrical data and figures are given.
The Nematodes are roundworms that are found in every environment of the earth. While some species are harmful parasites, others play a vital role in nutrient cycle and medical research. Nematode infestation in the fields is poly-specific; however, depending on the agro-climatic conditions, one or two species are dominant over the rest. The present studies attempts to observe and control the roo...
introduction: root-knot nematodes (meloidogyne spp.) are important plant pathogens that make large damage to the crops. the activity of root-knot nematode and reaction of host plant results in the development of several knots on the root, which interrupts water and food absorption system of the plant. among popular methods for controlling root-knot nematodes are physical methods (soil solarizat...
In 3-year field model experiments on 2 plots of a strawberry production plantation: populated with stem nematode and free from nematode, it was found that pre-planting treatment the root system seedlings fungal bacterial strains bioagents by fungi Arthrobotrys oligospora VKPM F-1141 Duddingtonia flagrans VKM F-2574 , as well mixed biopreparation Fitop 18.81 hasa protective effect against plant ...
Endophytes are known to play important roles in plant's health and productivity. In this study, we investigated the root microbiome of tomato in association with infection by root knot nematodes. Our objectives were to observe the effects and response of the bacterial endophytes before nematode attacks and to reveal the functional attributes of microbes in plant health and nematode pathogenesis...
Abstract We report a human case of ocular filariasis, caused by species Breinlia nematode, from Queensland, Australia. Morphological and molecular evidence indicated that the nematode (Johnstonema) annulipapillata, or closely related taxon, likely transmitted macropodid marsupial host was involved, which might represent an accidental finding emerging zoonosis.
results significant differences were observed in the results of co-culture of nematodes larva and fungi after seven days. the most effective fungi against the nematodes larvae were cladosporium sp., trichoderma sp., fusarium equisetti, after seven days of incubation. materials and methods sheep feces were employed to provide the required third stage larvae source for the experiments. the nemato...
aspartic proteases are a relatively small group of enzymes which express in various nematodes including onchocerca volvulus. an estimation of the gene copy number corresponding to the ov7a clone, which contains a cdna insert encoding approximately two-thirds of the entire coding sequence of aspartic protease of o. volvulus, was made by slot blot analysis in a closely related species o. gibsonig...
