This paper proposes an alternative approach for efficiency analysis when a set of DMUs uses interval scale variables in the productive process. To test the influence of these variables, we present a general approach of deriving DEA models to deal with the variables. We investigate a number of performance measures with unrestricted-in-sign interval and/or interval scale variables.
Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) models with interval inputs and outputs have been rarely discussed in DEA literature. This paper, using the enhanced Russell measurement proposes an extended model which permits the presence of interval scale variables which can take both negative and positive values. The model is compared with most well-known DEA models of which include the CCR model, the BCC mo...
this study investigates issues on efficiency and elasticity of broiler production in peninsular malaysia. data from 296 broiler farms were subjected to sfa, dea and bootstrap methods for technical efficiency; translog and tobit regression analyses to estimate elasticity of production and determinants of efficiency respectively in broiler production. we found that farmers produce mean efficiency...
in this article, we will estimate efficiency amountof decision-making unit by offering the continuous piecewise polynomialextrapolation and interpolation by ccr model input-oriented on the assumptionthat it is constant returns to scale in different times. and finally, we willestimate efficiency amount of decision-making unit indifferent times byoffering an example.
DEA models help a DMU to detect its (in-)efficiency and to improve activities, if necessary. Efficiency is only one economic aim for a decision-maker; however, up- or downsizing might be a second one. Improving efficiency is the main topic in DEA; the long-term strategy towards the right production size should attract our attention as well. Not always the management of a DMU primarily focuses o...
Efficiency Analysis for Multicomponent Production Processes Conventional models concerned with efficiency analysis of organizations typically consider a single production process, or technology, in which all inputs are used the outputs. This approach does not account well situations involved several component processes whose and outputs may be shared by different processes. The main difficulty ...
The population is ageing, which has many social and economic implications, one of them an increase in demand for institutional long-term care the elderly. Therefore, aim this paper to analyse change detect whether there are differences between twelve selected OECD countries period 2014-2019 regard values total factor productivity system aged 65 over these countries. Malmquist – DEA performance ...
Negative data handling has gained a remarkable importance in the literature of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to address many real life problems. Various erstwhile applications, in this arena, referred relocation of the origin to a superior (RDM) or to an inferior (Translated Input Oriented BCC) neighboring point. In this paper, the conditions for Rotation Invariance of various Data Envelop...
envelopment analysis (dea) is a very eective method to evaluate the relative eciency of decision-making units (dmus). dea models divided all dmus in two categories: ecient and inecientdmus, and don't able to discriminant between ecient dmus. on the other hand, the observedvalues of the input and output data in real-life problems are sometimes imprecise or vague, suchas interval data, ...
