Abstract A powerful switch based on a block of shock-ionized dynistors is described, which has an operating voltage 16 kV and capable switching nanosecond current pulses with amplitude ~3 kA at frequency 300 Hz. The results computer simulation the process its are given, prospects for increasing switched power determined.
