Security for dynamic address allocation service in Mobile Adhoc Networks is still an open issue. This paper proposes a security framework to thwart all possible attacks related to the buddy system based Distributed Dynamic Address Assignment Protocol (DDAAP) proposed by Thoppian and Prakash. Our proposed protocol called SHEAP (Secured tHrEshold based DDAAP) is based on a fully distributed PKI a...

We present a large neighbourhood search method for solving the frequency assignment problem with multiple source interferences. Starting from an initial solution, subproblems of auto-adjustable size are iteratively generated and solved with either a greedy algorithm or an exact method. The approach has been successfully tested on realistic instances issued from military applications.

The enormous and growing complexity of today's high-end systems has increased the already significant challenges of obtaining high performance on today's equally complex scientific applications. Application scientists are faced with a daunting challenge in tuning their codes to exploit performance-enhancing architectural features. The Performance Engineering Research Institute (PERI) is working...

The impact of fast moving items, modeled by auto-regressive moving average (ARMA) type processes, on the bullwhip effect is well known. However, slow moving items that can be modeled using integer ARMA processes have received little attention. Herein, we measure the impact of bullwhip effect under a first order integer auto-regressive, INAR(1), demand process. We consider a simple two-stage sup...

In response to the enormous and growing complexity of today’s high-end systems, the Performance Engineering Research Institute (PERI) is working toward automating portions of the performance tuning process by developing an autotuning framework. Our framework employs empirical techniques to identify the best-performing version of a computation among a search space of possible implementations. Th...

OBJECTIVE We examined the personality correlates of accident-proneness of auto-rickshaw drivers in the Indian city of Ranchi. METHODS This was a cross-sectional study in which 50 male drivers aged 18-50 years, selected randomly from a list of licensed auto-rickshaw drivers in Ranchi, were assessed with a Hindi version of Cattell's 16 Personality Factors (16-PF) Questionnaire. RESULTS There ...

In this paper, we classified existing address autoconfiguration schemes based on two communication models: centralized and distributed schemes. We defined performance metrics and evaluated four existing address autoconfiguration schemes. We suggested requirements for an address autoconfiguration scheme.

Cognitive radios CR have the ability to dynamically adapt to local spectrum availability. In a network comprised of CR-enabled devices, layerauto-configuration involves determining a common set of channels also referred to as the global channel set to facilitate communication among participating nodes. This is a unique challenge as nodes in the CR network are unaware of (a) their neighbors and ...

1 Networked RFID in Industrial Control: Current and Future This paper introduces the notion of networked Radio Frequency Technology (RFID) and reviews the work of the Auto ID Center in providing a low cost, global networked RFID solution. The paper then examines the role of networked RFID in changing the nature of industrial control systems operations. In particular the notions of connectedness...
