‎financial market modeling and prediction is a difficult problem and drastic changes of the price causes nonlinear dynamic that makes the price prediction one of the most challenging tasks for economists‎. ‎since markets always have been interesting for traders‎, ‎many traders with various beliefs are highly active in a market‎. ‎the competition among two agents of traders‎, ‎namely trend follo...

A new evolutionary-progressive method for Multiple Sequence Alignment problem is proposed. The method efficiently combines flexibility of evolutionary approach with speed and accuracy of progressive technique. The results show that the hybrid method is an interesting alternative for purely genetic or purely progressive approaches.

In this paper we present a new evolutionary method for complex-process optimization. It is partially based on principles of the scatter search methodology, but it makes use of innovative strategies to be more effective in the context of complex-process optimization using a small number of tuning parameters. In particular, we introduce a new combination method based on path relinking, which cons...

nowadays, robots account for most part of our lives in such a way that it is impossible for usto do many of affairs without them. increasingly, the application of robots is developing fastand their functions become more sensitive and complex. one of the important requirements ofrobot use is a reliable software operation. for enhancement of reliability, it is a necessity todesign the fault toler...

13ETIiRMINATION of total iodine in various materials has become of increasing interest, especially in nutritional studies. Several methods are available for such determination. Many of them have been principally concerned with the protein-bound iodine fraction in serum (1, 2). Other methods for iodine determination have appeared from time to time. Mathews et al. (3) have proposed a method which...

This paper presents a new evolutionary method, namely, a Two Phase evolutionary algorithm for multiple sequence alignments. This method is composed of different types of evolutionary algorithms, that is, an evolutionary progressive multiple sequence alignment method (abbreviated to ET) and Sequence Alignment by Genetic Algorithm (abbreviated to SAGA). The former is employed to obtain efficientl...

By the year 2003, 47% of the world’s 6.3 billion inhabitants were living in urban areas, while in more developed countries, 75% of the population (1.2 billion) lived in urban areas (Population Reference Bureau, 2003). As more and more people make their residencies in the heart of the industrial and commercial world, urbanisation will continue to grow. Alterations to the natural environment due ...

Mammal feces are the primary food and nesting resource for the majority of dung beetle species, and larval development depends on the quantity and quality of that resource. Physiological necessities, competitive interactions, and resource sharing are common and suggest that dung beetles may show preferences for feces of greater nutritional quality, which may in turn impact beetle assemblages an...

Mesh numbering is a critical issue in Finite Element Methods, as the computational cost of one analysis is highly dependent on the order of the nodes of the mesh. This paper presents some preliminary investigations on the problem of mesh numbering using Evolutionary Algorithms. Three conclusions can be drawn from these experiments. First, the results of the up-to-date method used in all FEM sof...

Evolutionary approaches to molecular docking typically hybridize with local search methods, more specifically, the Solis-Wet method. However, some studies indicated that local search methods might not be very helpful in the context of molecular docking. An evolutionary algorithm with proper genetic operators can perform equally well or even outperform hybrid evolutionary approaches. We show tha...
