Artificial Skin Model simulating dry and moist in vivo human skin friction and deformation behaviour
this work investigates the response of two-dimensional, turbulent boundary layer characteristics over a flat plate to the presence of suspended particulate matter. both phases are assumed to be interacting continua. that is, the carrier fluid equations are considered to be coupled with the particle-phase equations. a finite-difference technique with non-uniform grid has been employed for the so...
The car-tyre friction injury has differences from other injuries. The components of injury which are burn, crushing, shearing, and degloving occur. Many treatment options can be performed for coverage of wound which are Vacuum Assisted Closure system (V.A.C), skin grafting, free flaps, local flaps and cross leg flap.
Rotation effects on MHD flow past an impulsively started vertical plate with variable mass diffusion is studied here. The governing equations involved in the present analysis are solved by the Laplace-transform technique. The velocity, concentration and skin friction are studied for different parameters like mass Grashof number, Schmidt number, magnetic field parameter, rotation parameter and t...
This study investigates the effects of boundary layer combustion on skin friction reduction in a model scramjet combustor. The 4-equation RANS (Transition SST model) is employed as turbulence and one experimental case which involves supersonic turbulent used for validating numerical simulation method. Then wall jet device can be to inject hydrogen into designed added lower combustor engine. res...
Amagnetohydrodynamic flow of a viscous, incompressible and slightly conducting fluid is developed between a parallel flat wall and a wavy wall whereas at the same time fluid is continuously sucked through the flat wall with a constant suction velocity. The velocity and temperature distribution are determined alongwith the pressure gradient and co-efficient of skin friction.
This paper deals with development of compliant artificial finger skin surface ridges with a pair of PVDF film strips embedded in each of them as sensing transducers for incipient slip detection in pursuit of elucidating the mechanism of human static friction sensing. We describe design and manufacture of the surface ridges and distinctive detection of incipient slip from rolling.
