in this work, we proposed an ef ective method based on cubic and pantic b-spline scaling functions to solve partial di fferential equations of frac- tional order. our method is based on dual functions of b-spline scaling func- tions. we derived the operational matrix of fractional integration of cubic and pantic b-spline scaling functions and used them to transform the mentioned equations to a ...

A finite element method of any order is applied on a Bakhvalov-type mesh to solve singularly perturbed convection--diffusion equation in 2D, whose solution exhibits exponential boundary layers. uniform convergence (almost) optimal proved by means carefully defined interpolant.

By applying finite difference formula to time discretization and the cubic B-splines for spatial variable, a numerical method for solving the inverse system of Burgers equations is presented. Also, the convergence analysis and stability for this problem are investigated and the order of convergence is obtained. By using two test problems, the accuracy of presented method is verified. Additional...

Introduction 3D reconstruction of an object from its 2D cross-sections (slices) has many applications in different fields of sciences such as medical physics and biomedical engineering. In order to perform 3D reconstruction, at first, desired boundaries at each slice are detected and then using a correspondence between points of successive slices surface of desired object is reconstructed. Interpolation-based model checking (ITP) [14] is an efficient and complete model checking procedure. However, for large problems, interpolants generated by ITP might become extremely large, rendering the procedure slow or even intractable. In this work we present a novel technique for interpolant generation in the context of model checking. The main novelty of our work is that we generate small...
