While many coastal areas are affected by squeeze, quantitative estimations of this phenomenon still limited. Ambiguity concerning the degree combined with a lack knowledge on its interaction human activities may lead to inadequate and unsuccessful management responses. The objective present research was quantify squeeze highly urbanized coast Mazatlan, Mexico, investigate relationship between d...

We introduce a stochastic version of the classical Perron’s method to construct viscosity solutions to linear parabolic equations associated to stochastic differential equations. Using this method, we construct easily two viscosity (sub and super) solutions that squeeze in between the expected payoff. If a comparison result holds true, then there exists a unique viscosity solution which is a ma...

The effect of the vanadium addition on the microstructure, the precipitation behavior, and the mechanical properties of the Al-5.0Cu-0.4Mn alloy has been studied. The as-cast Al-5.0Cu-0.4Mn alloy was produced by squeeze casting and the heat treatment was carried out following the standard T6 treatment. It is shown that, with the addition of V, grain refinement of aluminum occurred. During heat ...

The squeeze-out phenomenon of K and K− mesons, i.e. the azimuthal asymmetry of K and K− mesons emitted at midrapidity in heavy ion reactions, is investigated for beam energies of 1-2 A.GeV. It is found that the squeeze-out signal is strongly affected by in-medium potentials of these mesons. The repulsive K-nucleus potential gives rise to a pronounced out-of-plane emission of K’s at midrapidity....

When cells migrate through constricting pores, they incur DNA damage and develop genomic variation. Experiments show that this damage is not due to DNA breakage from mechanical stress on chromatin in the deformed nucleus. Here we propose a model for a mechanism by which nuclear deformation can lead to DNA damage. We treat the nucleus as an elastic-fluid system with an elastic component (chromat...
